Solar Orbiter encounter with Venus, 9 August 2021
This figure shows the orbital configuration of STEREO Ahead (red) during
the encounter of Solar Orbiter (orange) with the planet Venus on 9
August 2021. The dashed orange line represents the orbit following the
encounter.
Note that the projected location of STEREO Behind is also plotted.
However, that spacecraft is not currently operational. Follow
