Solar Orbiter encounter with Venus, 3 September 2030

This figure shows the orbital configuration of STEREO Ahead (red) during the encounter of Solar Orbiter (orange) with the planet Venus on 3 September 2030. The dashed orange line represents the orbit following the encounter.

The following figure shows the progression of Solar Orbiter through the fields of view of the STEREO/SECCHI telescopes. The images are simulated, based on data from earlier in the STEREO mission.
