Solar Orbiter encounter with Venus, 4 September 2022
This figure shows the orbital configuration of STEREO Ahead (red) during
the encounter of Solar Orbiter (orange) with the planet Venus on 4
September 2022. The dashed orange line represents the orbit following the
encounter.
Note that the projected location of STEREO Behind is also plotted.
However, that spacecraft is not currently operational. Follow

The following figure shows the progression of Solar Orbiter
through the fields of view of the STEREO/SECCHI telescopes. The images are
simulated, based on data from earlier in the STEREO mission.
