Parker Solar Probe encounter with Venus, 3 October 2018
This figure shows the orbital configuration of STEREO Ahead (red) during
the encounter of Parker Solar Probe (orange) with the planet Venus on 3
October 2018. The dashed orange line represents the orbit following the
encounter. The two spacecraft are in quadrature during this encounter, which
means that the STEREO coronagraphs, including the Heliospheric Imager
telescopes, will have a good view of the material heading toward Parker
Solar Probe.
Note that the projected location of STEREO Behind is also plotted.
However, that spacecraft is not currently operational. Follow
