STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2024-06-11 (Week 24) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 23 (Jun 3-9) * On day 157 (Jun 5), during the DSS-65 support, the antenna was declared red due to a X-band LNA problem following a maintenance event. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 1.6 hours of real-time telemetry, commanding, tracking and SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the subsequent DSS-26 track and recovered all the affected data. See DR #M117007 for more information. * On day 158 (Jun 6), during the DSS-14 support, the beginning of track was delayed 50 minutes until 1255z, due to DSN not being able to monitor and control any Goldstone subsystems after a scheduled network downtime. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 50 minutes of real-time telemetry, commanding, tracking, and SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the track and recovered all the affected data. See DR #G124491 for more information. * Both network maintenance events originally scheduled for this week were postponed. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.1 Gbits during this week. Week 24 (Jun 10-16) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * Wednesday, June 12th, a MOC IONET security scan is scheduled from 13:00 to 14:00 UT.
