STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2025-09-16 (Week 38) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * Jimmy Dickey has returned from his military deployment. Please welcome him back! INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 37 (Sep 8-14) * On day 251 (Sep 8), DSN conducted a Mission Network Maintenance from 22:00 UT through day 252 at 06:00 UT. After the maintenance, the MOPs team verified the SLE telemetry and command connectivity with DSN. * On day 257 (Sep 14), during the DSS-24 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 17:21 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 27 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * On day 252 (Sep 9), the PLASTIC team conducted real-time commanding to increase the MCP voltage level. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 8.3 Gbits during this week. Week 38 (Sep 15-21) * Ahead has eighteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 39 (Sep 22-28) * Ahead has sixteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The IMAP is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, September 23rd. There are several possible track deletions during the week if this launch is postponed. Week 40 (Sep 29 - Oct 5) * Ahead has twelve passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 24th Solar Orbiter remote sensing window begins Wednesday, October 1st. Week 41 (Oct 6-12) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 180th momentum dump is scheduled for Thursday, October 9, at 20:00 UT. Week 42 (Oct 13-19) * Ahead has twelve passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * There is a DSN network maintenance event scheduled for Monday, October 13th, from 06:30-14:30 UT. Week 43 (Oct 20-26) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Other * Station 14 is currently RED due to flooding. STEREO has no DSS-14 tracks scheduled this week or next, and operations should be restored by Friday at 11:28 UT. * S/WAVES and PLASTIC teams are both excitedly using the higher-cadence level-0 processed data and expressed gratitude for the additional MOC processing run.
