STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2025-08-19 (Week 34) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 33 (Aug 11-17) * On day 228 (Aug 16), during the DSS-56 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 07:58 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * On day 228 (Aug 16), APL conducted a commercial powered outage maintenance from 10:00 UT through 02:00 UT on day 229. The MOC operated on generator for the outage with no negative impact. * On day 228 (Aug 16), APL network engineers successfully performed the DMZ Cybersecurity test from 11:30 through 13:30 UT. * On day 228 (Aug 16), during the DSS-34 support, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently between 20:19 and 22:09 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 47 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.4 Gbits during this week. Week 34 (Aug 18-24) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 35 (Aug 25-31) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 76th SECCHI stepped calibration roll is scheduled for Monday, August 25th, at 21:00 UT. * There is a DSN network maintenance event scheduled on Wednesday, August 27th, from 15:00-23:00 UT. Week 36 (Sep 1-7) * Ahead has seventeen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * APL will be closed on Monday, Sep 1, for the Labor Day holiday. * An ESA Cebreros track is scheduled for Wednesday, September 3rd, from 02:10 to 06:10 UT. * The 179th momentum dump is scheduled for Thursday, September 4th, at 19:30 UT. * The 22nd Solar Orbiter remote sensing window begins Sunday, September 7th. Week 37 (Sep 8-14) * Ahead has sixteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * There is a DSN network maintenance event scheduled from Monday, September 8th, at 22:00 UT to Tuesday at 06:00 UT * Beginning Friday, September 12th, SECCHI will be conducting special observations in conjunction with the Parker Solar Probe perihelion. * The 23rd Solar Orbiter remote sensing window begins Saturday, September 13th. Week 38 (Sep 15-21) * Ahead has eighteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 39 (Sep 22-28) * Ahead has sixteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Some tracks may be removed from this week.
