STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2025-07-08 (Week 28) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 27 (June 30 - July 6) * On day 184 (Jul 3), during the DSS-56 support, monitor data was not available in the MOC from 04:44 to 04:46 UT, due to a network link issue between JPL and GSFC. This anomaly caused the MOC SLE command bind to abort at 04:44 UT. The SLE command bind was reestablished at 05:28 UT. See DR #N113682 for more information. * On day 185 (Jul 4), during the DSS-26 support, the uplink and downlink were lost between 11:30 and 11:59 UT, due to an antenna brake problem. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 29 minutes of real-time telemetry, commanding, 2-way tracking, and 28052 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the subsequent DSS-55 track and recovered all the affected data. See DR #G125277 for more information. * On day 186 (Jul 5), during the DSS-56 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 07:22 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 10 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * On day 186 (Jul 5), the SECCHI instrument reset at 03:13:59 UT. The SECCHI team reconfigured the instrument to operational mode by 04:16 UT. This was the 82nd reset of the SECCHI instrument on the Ahead observatory. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 8.1 Gbits during this week. Week 28 (July 7-13) * Ahead has twelve passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 29 (July 14-20) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 30 (July 21-27) * Ahead has eighteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 178th momentum dump is scheduled for Wednesday, July 23rd, with ignition at 19:05 UT. Week 31 (July 28-Aug 3) * Ahead has sixteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * There is a DSN network maintenance event scheduled from Thursday, July 31st, at 23:00 to Friday, August 1st, at 02:00 UT. Week 32 (Aug 4-10) * Ahead has twelve passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 33 (Aug 11-17) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal.
