STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2025-05-27 (Week 22) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 21 (May 19-25) * On day 139 (May 19), during the DSS-55 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 05:25 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 14 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * On day 139 (May 19), during the DSS-63 support, the beginning of track was delayed one hour until 09:35 UT, due to maintenance for hardware repairs. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one hour of real-time telemetry, commanding, tracking, and SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the track and recovered all the affected data. See DR #M117927 for more information. * On day 140 (May 20), during the DSS-63 support, the SECCHI SSR Partition 19 reached 100% full for 4.7 hours from 04:26 UT to 09:05 UT. The partition filling was caused by the shortened DSS-63 support on DOY 139, due to maintenance for hardware repairs. * On days 144-145 (May 24-25), APL conducted a commercial powered outage maintenance from May 24th at 08:00 UT through May 25th at 01:00 UT. The MOC operated on generator for the outage with no negative impact. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 7.5 Gbits during this week. Week 22 (May 26 - June 1) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * APL was closed on Monday, May 26, for the Memorial Day holiday. * May 28 (Wednesday), an ESA Malargue track is scheduled at 07:15-11:15 UT. Week 23 (June 2-8) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 75th SECCHI stepped calibration roll is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3rd, at 14:50 UT. * On Wednesday, June 4th, a MOC IONET secutiry scan is scheduled from 13:00 to 15:00 UT. Week 24 (June 9-15) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 18th battery discharge cycle is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, starting at 17:40 UT. * APL will be undergoing power maintenance starting Friday, June 13, at 19:00 UT, and continuing until Monday, June 16 at 12:00 UT. The MOC shouldn't be impacted. * SECCHI will be conducting special observations in conjunction with the Parker Solar Probe perihelion beginning Sunday, June 15 and ending Tuesday, June 24th. Week 25 (June 16-22) * Ahead has sixteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * A DSN network maintenance event is scheduled on Monday, June 16th, from 10:30 to 14:30 UT. * The 177th momentum dump is scheduled on Wednesday, June 18th, at 13:00 UT. Week 26 (June 23-29) * Ahead has seventeen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 27 (June 30 - July 6) * Ahead has seventeen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * APL will be closed on Friday, July 4th, for Independence Day.
