STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2025-05-20 (Week 21) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 20 (May 12-18) * On day 133 (May 13), during the DSS-25 support, the transmitter was declared red, due to a hardware problem. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 3.9 hours of real-time commanding and 2-way tracking data. See DR #G125149 for more information. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 7.8 Gbits during this week. Week 21 (May 19-25) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * On Monday, May 19th, the start of the DSS-63 track was delayed by about an hour due to a problem with the antenna. This resulted in the SECCHI partition filling up. The partition was full for approximately 7 hours on the morning of Tuesday, May 20th. More details will be available next week. * APL will have a scheduled commercial power outage beginning Saturday, May 24th at 08:00 UT and extending through Sunday, May 25th. Week 23 (June 2-8) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 75th SECCHI stepped calibration roll is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3rd, at 14:50 UT. * On Wednesday, June 4th, a MOC IONET secutiry scan is scheduled from 13:00 to 15:00 UT. Week 24 (June 9-15) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 18th battery discharge cycle is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, starting at 17:40 UT. * APL will be undergoing power maintenance starting Friday, June 13, at 19:00 UT, and continuing until Monday, June 16 at 12:00 UT. The MOC shouldn't be impacted. * Parker Solar Probe will be starting their perihelion pass on Sunday, June 15. Week 25 (June 16-22) * Ahead has sixteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * June 16, a DSN network maintenance event is scheduled at 10:30-14:30 UT. * June 18, the 177th momentum dump is scheduled at 13:00 UT.
