STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2025-05-06 (Week 19) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 18 (Apr 28 - May 4) * On day 119 (Apr 29), during the DSS-35 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1755z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 12 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * As of day 124 (May 4), all PLASTIC systems are behaving well, except there is a moderate background count rate, which the team is continuing to monitor. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 8.3 Gbits during this week. Week 19 (May 5-11) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. A track on Tuesday, May 6, was removed from the schedule. * The 176th momentum dump is scheduled for tomorrow, May 7th, at 13:00 UT. Week 20 (May 12-18) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The DSN network maintenance event originally scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, has been canceled. Week 21 (May 19-25) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 22 (May 26 - June 1) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * APL will be closed on Monday, May 26, for the Memorial Day holiday. * An ESA Malargue track is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28. Week 23 (June 2-8) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 75th SECCHI stepped calibration roll is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3rd, at 14:50 UT. Week 24 (June 9-15) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 18th battery discharge cycle is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, starting at 17:40 UT. * APL will be undergoing power maintenance starting Friday, June 13, at 19:00 UT, and continuing until Monday, June 16 at 12:00 UT. The MOC shouldn't be impacted. * Parker Solar Probe will be starting their perihelion pass on Sunday, June 15.
