STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2025-03-18 (Week 12) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 11 (Mar 10-16) * On day 072 (Mar 13), DSN conducted Mission Network Maintenance from 15:00 through 23:00 UT. After the maintenance, the MOPs team verified the SLE telemetry and command connectivity with DSN. * On day 075 (Mar 16), during the DSS-65 support, the beginning of track was delayed by four minutes, due to a receiver issue. This anomaly resulted in the loss of four minutes of real-time telemetry, tracking, and SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the track and recovered all of the affected data. See DR #M117784 for more information. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 8.2 Gbits during this week. Week 12 (Mar 17-23) * Ahead has twelve passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * SECCHI is observing the Parker Solar Probe perihelion beginning Tuesday, March 18. Week 13 (Mar 24-30) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * Solar Orbiter Remote Sensing Window 20 begins on Saturday, March 29. Week 14 (Mar 31 - Apr 6) * Ahead has sixteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 175th momentum dump is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1, at 18:15 UT. * On Wednesday, April 2, an ESA New Norcia track is scheduled from 02:05 to 05:35 UT. Week 15 (Apr 7-13) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The Ahead spacecraft will observe a transit of Mercury on Monday, April 7. * There is a DSN network maintenance event scheduled for Tuesday, April 8 through Wednesday, April 9. Week 16 (Apr 14-20) * Ahead has twelve passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 17 (Apr 21-27) * Ahead has seventeen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 21st Solar Orbiter remote sensing window begins Friday, April 25th.
