STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2025-02-25 (Week 9) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 8 (Feb 17-23) * On day 049 (Feb 18), the 174th momentum dump was executed successfully at 18:45 UT, which imparted an estimated delta V of 0.057 m/sec. This was the 93rd momentum dump conducted without gyro use. After thruster operations completed, there was a 0.7 degree of roll angle error. Fine pointing stabilized 2.5 minutes after completion of the momentum dump. * On day 050 (Feb 19), APL network engineers successfully performed the MOC annual IONET IT security scans. * On day 050 (Feb 19), the battery trickle charge rate parameter in RAM was increased from C/150 to C/100 at 1210z. The rate was increased to improve the charging for the Battery Common Pressure Vessel (CPV) 11, which was determined to be under charging. * On day 052 (Feb 21), the battery pressure upper limit parameter in RAM was increased to 1043 psi at 15:23 UT. The limit was increased to accommodate for the increased battery trickle charge implemented on day 050. * On day 052 (Feb 21), APL successfully performed the power outage through day 054 (Feb 23) for the building 17 datacenter power upgrade. The MOC was not impacted. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 7.8 Gbits during this week. Week 9 (Feb 24 - Mar 2) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 10 (Mar 3-9) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Two tracks were added to this schedule. * There will be a STEREO instrument teams meeting March 3-4 at APL (hybrid). Anyone interested in participating is welcome. Please contact Lan Jian and cc Terry Kucera and Angelos Vourlidas. * The 74th SECCHI stepped calibration roll is scheduled for Wednesday, March 5th, at 12:35 UT. * Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday, March 9. Week 11 (Mar 10-16) * Ahead has sixteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * Solar Orbiter Remote Sensing Window 19 begins on Tuesday, March 11. * There is a DSN network maintenance event scheduled for Thursday, March 13. Week 12 (Mar 17-23) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * SECCHI is observing the Parker Solar Probe perihelion beginning Wednesday, March 19. Week 13 (Mar 24-30) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * Solar Orbiter Remote Sensing Window 20 begins on Saturday, March 29. Week 14 (Mar 31 - Apr 6) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 175th momentum dump is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1, at 18:15 UT. * On Wednesday, April 2, an ESA New Norcia track is scheduled from 02:05 to 05:35 UT.
