STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2024-07-23 (Week 30) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 29 (July 15-21) * On day 199 (Jul 17), during the DSS-83 (ESA Cebreros) support, DSN stopped receiving V6 data (SSR) at 0914 UT. This anomaly resulted in the delay of instrument data making its way into the telemetry archive. Post-track, DSN and MOPs performed off-line playbacks and recovered all of the affected data. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 7.1 Gbits during this week. Week 30 (July 22-28) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * On Tuesday, July 23rd, a DSS-65 track will be shadowing a DSS-56 track from 21:35 to 00:35 UT. * In anticipation of decreased antenna availability through the end of the year, the MOC team is proposing to increase the time limit of the soft command loss timer from 60hr to 70hr. This change would likely be implemented Wednesday, July 24th. Week 31 (July 29-Aug 4) * Ahead has eight passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 32 (Aug 5-11) * Ahead has twelve passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * A DSN maintenance event is scheduled for Monday, August 5 (day 218) between 06:30 and 14:30 UT (2:30-10:30 EDT). * On Wednesday, August 7, a DMZ internet outage is scheduled from 23:00 - 00:00 UT, due to a firewall update. All instrument teams should verify connectivity following this outage. Week 33 (Aug 12-18) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 169th momentum dump is scheduled for Tuesday, August 13th, with ignition at 13:00 UT. * On Wednesday, August 14th, a DSS-65 track will be shadowing a DSS-55 track from 06:45 to 10:40 UT. Week 34 (Aug 19-25) * Ahead has nine passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 35 (Aug 26-Sep 01) * Ahead has nine passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * On Sunday, August 28th, a DSN network maintenance event is scheduled from 15:00 to 02:30 UT.
