STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2024-06-25 (Week 26) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 25 (Jun 17-23) * On day 170 (Jun 18), DSN conducted a Mission Network maintenance from 1855z through 2255z. After the maintenance, the MOPs team verified the SLE telemetry and command connectivity with DSN. * On day 172 (Jun 20), during the DSS-54 support, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently between 1051z and 1059z, due to heavy rain. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 29849 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the subsequent DSS-74 track and recovered all the affected data. See DR #M117061 for more information. * On day 170 (Jun 18), the 71st SECCHI stepped calibration was executed at 0925z for perihelion in the Ahead orbit. This was the 40th SECCHI stepped calibration roll conducted without gyro use. * As of day 175 (Jun 23), all PLASTIC systems are behaving well, except there is a moderate background count rate, which the team is continuing to monitor. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.7 Gbits during this week. Week 26 (Jun 24-30) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The sixteenth battery discharge event was carried out successfully this morning (June 25) at 14:40 UT. * Parker Solar Probe's 20th perihelion pass runs from June 26 to July 8, days 178-190. Week 27 (July 1-7) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * APL will be closed on Thursday, July 4, for the Independence Day holiday. Week 28 (July 8-14) * Ahead has nine passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * A DSN network maintenance event is scheduled from Monday, July 8th at 23:00 to Tuesday, July 9th at 03:00. * The 168th momentum dump is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10, with ignition at 18:05 UT. Week 29 (July 15-21) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * On Wednesday, July 17th, an ESA Cebreros track is scheduled from 08:55 to 11:00 UT. Week 30 (July 22-28) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 31 (July 29-Aug 4) * Ahead has eight passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal.
