STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2024-03-19 (Week 12) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 11 (Mar 11-17) * On day 075 (Mar 15), during the DSS-55 support, the beginning of track was delayed by 3.1 hours until 0714z, due to an automation software problem preventing link connections to Madrid, following a network maintenance event. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 3.1 hours of real-time telemetry, tracking, commanding, and SSR data. Due to the timing of the outage and track coverage, the SSR data could not be recovered, which resulted in the loss of 23 hours of science and housekeeping data for day 074-0812z thru 075-0712z. See DR #M116821 for more information. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 5.5 Gbits during this week. Week 12 (Mar 18-24) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 165th momentum dump is scheduled for Thursday, Mar 21, with ignition at 17:30 UT. * Saturday, March 23 through Sunday, March 24, SECCHI is observing the STEREO-SolO orbital conjunction. * The 13th SolO Remote sensing window ends Sunday, March 24th. Week 13 (Mar 25-31) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * Tuesday, March 26th SECCHI is observing the Parker Solar Probe perihelion, which will cover day of year 86 - 95. * An ESA Malargue track is scheduled for Wednesday, March 27, from 08:15-10:15 UT at 720 kbps. * Wednesday, March 27, the SolO 14th remote sensing window begins, running from days 87-100, March 27 to April 9. Week 14 (Apr 1-7) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * On Monday, April 1, SECCHI will begin a high downlink campaign for the total solar eclipse, extending until April 15.
