STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2024-03-12 (Week 11) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 10 (Mar 4-Mar 10) * On day 064 (Mar 4), during the DSS-53 support, the File Delivery Service (FDS) was offline, due to a network problem. This anomaly delayed the nominal delivery of telemetry files during the track. The MOPs team performed a manual file retrieval at 064-2310z. See DR #N113010 for more information. * On day 066 (Mar 6), during the DSS-54 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0528z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 100 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. See DR #M116794 for more information. * On day 067 (Mar 7), during the DSS-36 support, the beginning of track was delayed by three minutes, due to a receiver problem. This anomaly resulted in the loss of three minutes of real-time telemetry, tracking, and SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the track and recovered all of the affected data. See DR #C117771 for more information. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.8 Gbits during this week. Week 11 (Mar 11-17) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 13th SolO Remote sensing window begins Tuesday, March 13th, ends March 24th, days 73-84. Week 12 (Mar 18-24) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 165th momentum dump is scheduled for Thursday, Mar 21, with ignition at 17:30 UT. * Saturday, March 23 through Sunday, March 24, SECCHI is observing the STEREO-SolO orbital conjunction. * The 13th SolO Remote sensing window ends Sunday, March 24th. Week 13 (Mar 25-31) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * Tuesday, March 26th SECCHI is observing the Parker Solar Probe perihelion, which will cover day of year 86 - 95. * An ESA Malargue track is scheduled for Wednesday, March 27, from 08:15-10:15 UT at 720 kbps. * Wednesday, March 27, the SolO 14th remote sensing window begins, running from days 87-100, March 27 to April 9. Week 14 (Apr 1-7) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * On Monday, April 1, SECCHI will begin a high downlink campaign for the total solar eclipse, extending until April 15. Week 15 (April 8-14) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The SECCHI high downlink campaign for the solar eclipse continues until April 15. * The solar eclipse occurs on April 8. * The Solar Orbiter Remote Sensing Window 15 runs from April 12-15. Week 16 (Apr 15-21) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The SECCHI high downlink campaign for the solar eclipse ends Monday, April 15. * On Wednesday, April 17 an ESA Cebreros track is scheduled from 05:25 to 06:55 UT.
