STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2024-02-20 (Week 8) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 7 (Feb 12-18) * On day 044 (Feb 13), DSN conducted a Mission Network Maintenance from 2300z through 045-0300z. After the maintenance, the MOPs team verified the SLE telemetry and command connectivity with DSN. * On day 045 (Feb 14), during the DSS-56 support, monitor data was not available in the MOC, due to a DSN network issue after the DSN mission network maintenance. See DR #N112971 for more information. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.3 Gbits during this week. Week 8 (Feb 19-25) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 164th momentum dump was successfully completed on Tuesday, Feb 20. * After the momentum dump station 26 had a transmitter problem, which remains. Week 9 (Feb 26-Mar 3) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 10 (Mar 4-Mar 10) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday, Mar 10. Week 11 (Mar 11-17) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 13th SolO Remote sensing window begins Tuesday, March 13th, ends March 24th. Week 12 (Mar 18-24) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 165th momentum dump is scheduled for Thursday, Mar 21, with ignition at 17:30 UT. * Saturday, March 23 through Sunday, March 24, SECCHI is observing the STEREO-SolO orbital conjunction. * The 13th SolO Remote sensing window ends Sunday, March 24th. Week 13 (Mar 25-31) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * Tuesday, March 26th SECCHI is observing the Parker Solar Probe perihelion, which will cover day of year 86 - 95. * An ESA Malargue track is scheduled for Wednesday, March 27, from 08:15-10:15 UT at 720 kbps.
