STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2024-01-23 (Week 4) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 3 (Jan 15-21) * On day 017 (Jan 17), during the DSS-56 support, the uplink was not available between 0437z and 0449z, due to a transmitter issue. This anomaly resulted in the loss of twelve minutes of commanding, 2-way tracking, and 2111 frames of SSR data. After the uplink was reestablished, the MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers and recovered all of the affected data. See DR #M116655 for more information. * APL was closed for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Monday, Jan 15. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.4 Gbits during this week. Week 4 (Jan 21-28) * Ahead has twelve passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The fifteen battery discharge event occurred Monday, Jan 22, at 15:25 UT. * The 69th SECCHI stepped calibration roll occurred on Tuesday, Jan 23, starting at 05:45 UT. This was an aphelion roll. Week 5 (Jan 29-Feb 4) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 6 (Feb 5-11) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * A DSN Project Interface Test with station 24 is scheduled for Sunday, Feb 11, between 10:45-13:00 UT. Week 7 (Feb 12-18) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 8 (Feb 19-25) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 164th momentum dump is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb 20, with ignition at 15:00 UT. Week 9 (Feb 26-Mar 3) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal.
