STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2024-01-09 (Week 2) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 1 (Jan 1-7) * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.2 Gbits during this week. * On day 6 (Jan 6) the SECCHI instrument reset at 09:38:24z. The SECCHI team reconfigured the instrument to operational mode by 007-0307z (Jan 7). This was the 79th reset of the SECCHI instrument on the Ahead observatory. * APL was closed for New Year's Day on Monday, Jan 1. Week 2 (Jan 8-14) * Ahead has twelve tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 163rd momentum dump was completed successfully on Tuesday, Jan 9, with ignition at 16:45 UT. * On Thursday, Jan 11 DSN will be undergoing maintenance at 2 ground stations from 00:00-08:00z. These activities are not expected to affect JPL operations. Week 3 (Jan 15-21) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * APL will be closed for the Martin Luther King holiday on Monday, Jan 15. Week 4 (Jan 21-28) * Ahead has twelve passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The fifteen battery discharge event is scheduled for Monday, Jan 22, at 15:25 UT. * The 69th SECCHI stepped calibration roll is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan 23, starting at 05:45 UT. This is the aphelion roll. Week 5 (Jan 29-Feb 4) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 6 (Feb 5-11) * Ahead has twelve passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * A DSN Project Interface Test with station 24 is scheduled for Sunday, Feb 11, between 10:45-13:00 UT. Week 7 (Feb 12-18) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal.
