STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2023-03-28 (Week 13) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 12 (Mar 20-26) * On day 080 (Mar 21), during the DSS-63 support for Ahead, the beginning of track telemetry was delayed 2.5 minutes until 1827z, due to a hardware problem. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 2.5 minutes of real-time telemetry and SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the track and recovered all the affected data. See DR #M115651 for more information. * On day 082 (Mar 23), during the DSS-34 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0953z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of five frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the subsequent DSS-56 track and recovered all the affected data. * As of day 085 (Mar 26), all PLASTIC systems on Ahead are behaving well, except there is a moderate background count rate, which the team is continuing to monitor. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.5 Gbits during this week. Week 13 (Mar 27-Apr 2) * Ahead has ten tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 14 (Apr 3-9) * Ahead has ten tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The Solar Orbiter Remote Sensing Window #8 starts on Tuesday, Apr 4, and runs through April 17 (DOY 94-107). Week 15 (Apr 10-16) * Ahead has ten tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 155th momentum dump on Ahead is scheduled for Wednesday, Apr 12, with ignition at 19:00 UT. This dump occurs within the Solar Orbiter Remote Sensing Window 8, but there are no specific plans for SECCHI for that week yet. * Solar Orbiter will observe an occultation of Venus by the Sun on Sunday, Apr 16. Week 16 (Apr 17-23) * Ahead has nine tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The Solar Orbiter Remote Sensing Window #9 starts on Thursday, Apr 20, and runs through April 24 (DOY 110-114). Week 17 (Apr 24-30) * Ahead has eight tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. A track on Thursday was deleted to help the Lunar Flashlight mission. * DSN mission network maintenance will be performed at the MOC on starting on Wednesday April 26 22:45 UT - April 27 at 02:45 UT. Week 18 (May 1-7) * Ahead has nine tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. An ESA New Norcia track is scheduled for Saturday, May 6.
