STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2022-04-05 (Week 14) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 13 (Mar 28-Apr 3) * On day 089 (Mar 30), DSN successfully conducted IONET network maintenance from 2245z through 090-0100z to replace the Juniper SRX firewall with a Palo Alto firewall for their DSN security zone at JPL. After the outage, MOPs successfully tested the MOC to DSN connectivity for all SLE Telemetry and Command Servers. * On day 090 (Mar 31), during the DSS-63 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1954z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 30 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the track and recovered all the affected data. * As of day 093 (Apr 3), all PLASTIC systems on Ahead are behaving well, except there is a moderate background count rate, which the team is continuing to monitor. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.8 Gbits during this week. Week 14 (Apr 4-10) * Ahead has fourteen tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 15 (Apr 11-17) * Ahead has eleven tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 16 (Apr 18-24) * Ahead has eleven tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 17 (Apr 25-May 1) * Ahead has eleven tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * Comet PANSTARRS will pass through the COR2-A field-of-view on Apr 27-30, days 117-120. Week 18 (May 2-8) * Ahead has twelve tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 146th momentum dump on Ahead is scheduled for Monday, May 2, with ignition at 18:30 UT. Week 19 (May 9-15) * Ahead has twelve tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal.
