STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2018-06-05 (Week 23) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally on the main lobe of the high gain antenna. * Behind has transitioned to a monthly schedule to attempt to recover the spacecraft. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 22 (May 28-Jun 3) * On day 148 (May 28), during the DSS-65 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently at 1215z through 1623z and telemetry lock at 1523z through 1533z and again at 1555z through 1610z due to rain at the Madrid complex. These anomalies resulted in the loss of 76,180 frames of real-time telemetry and SSR data, which is equivalent to about 47 minutes. See DR# M110618 for more information. * On day 153 (Jun 2), during the DSS-55 support for Ahead, initial telemetry lock was 16 minutes late occurring at 1831z followed by intermittent loss of turbo decoder lock through 1840z due to rain at the Madrid complex. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 19,111 frames of real-time telemetry and SSR data, which is equivalent to about 24 minutes. See DR# M110631 for more information. * On day 153 (Jun 2), during the DSS-14 support for Ahead, the initial receipt of monitor data was delayed for 3 hours occurring at 1945z due a power/network outage at the Goldstone complex. Also, receipt of IDR files from the first half of the track was delayed two days due to a network issue. These anomalies resulted in the loss of 3 hours of monitor data. All SSR data were received. See DRs# G119146 and N110931 for more information. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 5.9 Gbits during this week. Week 23 (Jun 4-10) * Ahead has 12 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are six passes at 720 kbps, four at 360 kbps, one at 240 kbps, and one at 160 kbps. * There are no recovery passes for Behind scheduled during the week. Week 24 (Jun 11-17) * The JPL network will be down for maintenance on Tuesday, Jun 12, between 11:00-15:00 UTC. There are no tracks during this period. * Sunday, Jun 17, marks the date when the Behind spacecraft should resume the capability of 633 bps on the LGA when 3-axis stabilized, with a 2 dB margin. * Ahead has ten tracks during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are five tracks at 720 kbps, three at 360 kbps, and two at 240 kbps. * Search pattern tracks to attempt to recover Behind are scheduled for Tuesday, Jun 12 (battery), and on Thursday, Jun 14, and Friday, Jun 15 (both carrier). Week 25 (Jun 18-24) * The 110th momentum dump on Ahead is scheduled for Thursday, Jun 21, with ignition at 20:00 UT. This will be the 29th dump without using the gyros. * Ahead has 11 tracks during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are six tracks at 720 kbps, three at 360 kbps, and two at 240 kbps. * There are no recovery passes for Behind during the week. Week 26 (Jun 25-Jul 1) * Ahead has eleven tracks during the week, and overall coverage is now nominal after a 70 meter pass was added on Monday. There are seven tracks at 720 kbps, and four at 240 kbps. * There are no recovery passes for Behind during the week. Week 27 (Jul 2-8) * Wednesday, Jul 4, is Independence Day, which is a holiday at APL. * Ahead has ten tracks during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are five tracks at 720 kbps, three at 360 kbps, and two at 240 kbsp. * There are no recovery passes for Behind during the week. Week 28 (Jul 8-15) * Ahead has twelve tracks during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are three tracks at 720 kbps, three at 360 kbps, and six at 240 kbps. * Recovery tracks for Behind using the 1 kHz frequency acquisition sequence are scheduled for Monday, Jul 9 (battery), and Tuesday, Jul 10 and Wednesday, Jul 11 (both carrier). Week 29 (Jun 16-22) * Ahead has 16 tracks during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are four tracks at 720 kbps, three at 360 kbps, and nine at 240 kbps. * There are no recovery passes for Behind during the week.
