STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2014-05-13 (Week 20) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * Tests are being performed of off-pointing the HGA antennas on both spacecraft, to see if minimal communication can be maintained during the long conjunction period. See below for details. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 19 (May 5-11) * On day 126 (May 6), during the DSS-63 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0752z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. * On day 126, during the DSS-25 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently between 127-0018z and 127-0021z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of thirteen frames of SSR data. * On day 126, the 62nd momentum dump on Behind was executed successfully at 2330z, which imparted a delta V of 0.0898 m/sec. * On day 127 (May 7), during the DSS-65 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0645z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of four frames of SSR data. * On day 128 (May 8), during the DSS-55 support for Behind, the transmitter tripped off at 1003z. The subsequent transition from 2-way to 1-way resulted in the loss of 347 frames of SSR data. To avoid further data loss, MOps requested to remain 1-way for the remainder of the track. See DR #M107976 for more information. * On day 129 (May 9), during the DSS-43 support for Behind, a DCD problem at Canberra prevented IDR files from being transmitted to the STEREO archive server. The missing files have been requested from the DSN. A DR has also been requested. * On day 130 (May 10), at 1815z, a test of the HGA side lobe RF pattern on Ahead was conducted with the DSN during the DSS-14 support. The HGA was off-pointed 9 degrees and back, at 0.2 degrees increments during a 90 minute period. The purpose of this test was to characterize the received signal power on the side lobes of the HGA. Analysis of the test data is underway. A telemetry rate of 633 bits/sec (the Space Weather beacon rate) was used. The test will be repeated on Behind during Week 20 for Behind. * On day 130, during the DSS-55 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1211z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 23 frames of SSR data. * On day 130, during the DSS-25 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently between 2153z and 2316z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 70 frames of SSR data. See DR #N109555 for more information. * The average daily SSR playback volume the week was 4.4 Gbits for Ahead and 4.2 Gbits for Behind. Week 20 (May 12-18) * MOps macro 1.1.20 will be loaded onto EEPROM on both spacecraft on May 18. * On Thursday May 15 there will be IOnet router maintenance at JPL 16:00-18:00 UT. This may delay real time data by about 1 min. * A test of slewing the HGA on Behind will be conducted during the station 43 pass on Saturday, May 17.
