STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2014-02-18 (Week 08) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 07 (Feb 10-16) * On day 041 (Feb 10), during the DSS-65 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 0853z through 1312z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of twelve frames of SSR data. * On day 042 (Feb 11), the 29th SECCHI-Ahead stepped calibration was executed at 0625z for the perihelion in the orbit. * On day 042 (Feb 11), during the DSS-55 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0858z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. * On day 043 (Feb 12), during the DSS-55 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1444z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. * On day 045 (Feb 14), during the DSS-45 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 2152z through day 046 (Feb 15) at 0145z due to heavy rain. At the end of track, the SSR pointers for were repositioned prior to the outage and all data was recovered on the next track. See DR# C110001 more information. * On day 045 (Feb 14), during the DSS-24 support for Behind, initial telemetry was established 3.7 hours late due to the X-band MASER being declared red. Limited track time with DSS-25 allowed for SSR pointers to be repositioned just prior to EOT to avoid data loss. See DR #G114666 for more information. The DSS-24 X-band MASER has now been replaced. * The full Reduced Gyro Operations (RGO) fault protection capability for the Behind observatory has been developed. Testing of the fault protection rules and load scripts has been completed on the hardware simulator (flatsat) and test data is being analyzed by the engineering team. The testing results will be disc used at the STEREO CCB on Thursday. RGO extends the life of the remaining IMU by keeping it off most of the time and turning it on only when high rate data is required, such as the periodic momentum dumps, instrument roll calibrations, and spacecraft safety. * The average daily SSR playback volume during the week was 4.7 Gbits for Ahead and 3.9 Gbits for Behind Week 08 (Feb 17-23) * Early Monday, Feb 17, Behind was scheduled to use D45, but the transmitter was declared red and telemetry was switched to D43 (70 meter at 120 kbps). * The 65th momentum dump on Ahead is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb 19, with ignition at 18:30 UT. * Ahead has 9 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. 70 meter passes are scheduled for Monday, Feb 17 (D14), Wednesday, Feb 19 (D14 at 160 kbps), 160 Friday, Feb 21 (D63), and Sunday, Feb 23 (D63).
