STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2013-09-24 (Week 39) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * The NASA MUG system used for monitoring telemetry will be upgraded on Tuesday, Oct 1, from 15-17 UT, which is outside track time. The backup date is Thursday, Oct 3, between 12-14 UT, also outside track time. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 38 (Sep 16-22) * On day 261 (Sep 18), during the DSS-65 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 0914z through 1209z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 32 frames of SSR data. * On day 261 (Sep 18), Fault Protection release 2.3.12 and MOPS permanent macro release 1.1.17 were loaded to C&DH RAM on Ahead to support Reduced Gyro Operations. IMU-2 was powered off successfully at 1223Z to activate Reduced Gyro Ops on the Ahead spacecraft only. * The SECCHI team reports that the level of jitter seen by the Guide Telescope increased by a factor of 4 after powering off IMU-2, and that this is noticeable in the COR1-A data. It was noted that the current jitter performance still appears to be within the official specification. A question was raised about the time constant of the jitter. It appears that the change in jitter is more in amplitude than in frequency. * On day 265 (Sep 22), during the DSS-65 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 1535z through 1736z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 114 frames of SSR data. See DR #N109124 for more information. * On day 260 (Sep 17), the 26th SECCHI stepped calibration on Behind was executed at 0850z for the midpoint in the orbit. * The average daily SSR playback volume during the week was 3.8 gigabits for Ahead, and 3.9 gigabits for Behind. This roll is being tested because it's a different roll direction than used before. The entire 4 hour roll will be performed, and SECCHI will test out their Comet ISON observing schedule during the roll. * Ahead has 9 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. 70 meter passes are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct 8 (D63), Wednesday, Oct 9 (D14 at 720 kbps), Friday, Oct 11 (D63 at 720 kbps), and Saturday, Oct 12 (D63).
