STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2013-02-19 (Week 8) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * On day 043 (Feb 12), the STEREO ESA tracks were resumed after an agreement by NASA and ESA. Track time will be traded with the Cluster-2 mission. The total amount of track time is similar to that from last year. The Ahead ESA tracks start again on Thursday, February 28 (DOY 059), 2013, and the Behind ESA tracks start again on Wednesday, February 20 (DOY 051), 2013. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 07 (Feb 11-17) * On day 043 (Feb 12), the second connectivity test was conducted with ESA DSS-84 (Malargue, Argentina) for both spacecraft. The MOC successfully performed SLE Command BINDs with equipment chains 1, 2, and 3. DSN Data Control successfully performed SLE telemetry BINDs with Chains 1, 2, and 3 for VC5, VC6, and VC7. * On day 044 (Feb 13), during the DSS-26 support for Ahead, the command bind was lost for 16 minutes beginning at 1652z due to transmitter controller assembly alarms. All command activities were complete, so this anomaly did not cause any impact. See DR# G113692 for more information. * On day 046 (Feb 15), during the DSS-14 track for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 1600z through 1859z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 367 frames of SSR data. See DR #G113696 for more information. * On day 044 (Feb 13), the SSR science partitions on Ahead filled as follows: SWAVES (Part 13) reached 100% full at 1255z for 2.2 hours. SWAVES (Part 13) reached 100% full at 2335z for 0.4 hours. The primary cause was the accumulated shortage of track time throughout the week. * On day 045 (Feb 14), the SSR science partitions on Ahead filled as follows: SWAVES (Part 13) remained 100% full at 0000z for 15.4 hours. SWAVES (Part 13) reached 100% full at 2242z for 1.3 hours. PLASTIC(Part 17) reached 95% full at 1214z for 3.3 hours. PLASTIC(Part 17) reached 95% full at 2243z for 1.3 hours. The primary cause was the accumulated shortage of track time throughout the week. * On day 046 (Feb 15), the SSR science partitions on Ahead filled as follows: SWAVES (Part 13) remained 100% full at 0000z for 16.6 hours. SWAVES (Part 13) reached 100% full at 1920z for 0.1 hours. IMPACT (Part 15) reached 95% full at 1043z for 5.9 hours. PLASTIC(Part 17) remained 95% full at 0000z for 16.6 hours. SECCHI (Part 19) reached 100% full at 1030z for 6.1 hours. The primary cause was the accumulated shortage of track time throughout the week. * On day 042 (Feb 11), during the DSS-14 support for Behind, ranging was degraded for the entire track because the Pre-pass range calibration was not performed due to transmitter calibrations errors. Post-pass range calibration was required to correct the ranging. See DR# G113682 for more information. * The average daily SSR playback volume during the week as 3.9 gigabits for Ahead, and 3.1 gigabits for Behind. Week 08 (Feb 18-24) * The 54th momentum dump for Ahead was successfully carried out yesterday (Feb 18), with ignition at 19:00 UT. A delta-V of 0.0955 m/s was imparted. * The station 63 transmitter was red during the Ahead pass this morning (Feb 19). Fortunately, the problem was partially corrected in time for the momentum dump on Behind this morning, which also used station 63. * The 49th momentum dump for Behind was successfully carried out this morning (Feb 19), with ignition at 17:00 UT. This was much earlier than usual due to DSN schedule constraints. * Ahead has 9 passes, and overall coverage is nominal. 70 meter passes are on Tuesday, Feb 19 (D63 at 720 kbps) and Wednesday-Saturday (D14), Feb 20-13.
