STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2012-05-01 (Week 18) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 17 (Apr 23-29) * On day 114 (Apr 23), during the DSS 55 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0710z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of three frames of SSR data. See DR #N108043 for more information. * On day 116 (Apr 25), during the DSS 63 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently between 0519-0524z and again at 0606z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 62 frames of SSR data. See DR #N108051 for more information. * On day 116 (Apr 25), during the DSS 45 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1931z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. See DR #N108052 for more information. * On day 117 (Apr 26), during the DSS 63 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0838z and again at 0904z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 159 frames of SSR data. See DR #N108053 for more information. * On day 119 (Apr 28), during the DSS 63 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently between 1016-1439z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 119 frames of SSR data. A DR has been requested. * On day 120 (Apr 29), during the DSS 63 support for Ahead, a DCD outage occurred at 0859-1005z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 15 minutes of mostly SECCHI data, which DSN is in the process of recovering. A DR will be requested. * On day 114 (Apr 23), during the DSS 63 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently between 1533-1713z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 79 frames of SSR data. See DR #N1080048 for more information. * On day 116 (Apr 25), during the DSS 14 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1840z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. MOPS repositioned SSR pointers and recovered all SSR data. See DR #N108049 for more information. * On day 117 (Apr 26), during the DSS 14 support for Behind, although the station was tracking nominally, no telemetry was available in the MOC due to a network outage that occurred at the beginning of track from 1730-1905z. The problem occurred during a scheduled activity window to install six new serial cards into existing JPL R-IONET Prime and Backup routers. Also during this track, the station had to stow the antenna because of the high wind gusts from 2146-2230z. MOPS stopped the SSR playback to reposition SSR pointers and recovered all SSR data. See DR #N108056 (Network Outage) and DR #G112621 (High Wind) for more information. * On day 119 (Apr 28), during the DSS 14 support for Behind, the station was red for the entire track because the antenna was unable to move due to oil over temperature condition in the SHA reservoir. DSN brought DSS 26 online at 1620z to support the remainder of the tracks, and DSS 26 was able to lock the downlink at 480Kbps. Also during this track, telemetry was lost in the MOC from 2030-2050z due to a network problem caused by a replacement router. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 27 minutes of SECCHI SSR data. See DR #G112634 (DSS-14 Red) and DR #N108059 (No MOC TLM) for more information. * Work on the JPL routers continued last night (Apr 30) and will also continue tomorrow (May 2). * On day 120 (Apr 29), during the DSS 63 support for Behind, although the station was tracking nominally, no telemetry was available in the MOC due to a DCD outage that occurred at the beginning of track from 1120-1325z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of three minutes of SSR data. See DR #M106734 for more information. * The average daily SSR playback volume during the week was 5.0 gigabits for Ahead, and 5.0 gigabits for Behind. * The problems with momentary loss of turbo decoder lock is also seen by other missions with high data rates. The DSN plans to deploy software to fix the problem, but no date for this has been set yet. * Some of the problems with the router replacement were on the DSN side, and some were on the MOC side when switching to the backup routers. Week 18 (Apr 30-May 6) * The current track for Ahead using station 15 started late by about 2 hours because of a problem releasing the antenna brakes. * A PIT test of the Data Capture and Delivery System (DCDS) version 3 will take place on Wednesday, May 2, starting at 14:00 UT for 1 hour. Old Behind data from day 101 (Apr 10) will be flowing during this test. However, these data should not be seen by the instrument teams. * Link testing will occur tomorrow between 19-23 UT. MOC contact may be lost momentarily during the end of the station 14 pass for Behind, and during the station 34 pass for Ahead. * The ability to downlink from Ahead with 34 meter stations through the low-gain antenna will end on Monday, Apr 30.
