STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2012-01-31 (Week 05) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 4 (Jan 23-29) * On day 023 (Jan 23), during the DSS-25 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1624z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. See DR# N107904 for more information. * On day 024 (Jan 24), during the DSS-55 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0842z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. See DR# N107903 for more information. * On day 028 (Jan 28), during the DSS-63 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 1028z through 1316z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of four frames of SSR data. A DR has been requested. * On day 024 (Jan 24), during the DSS-63 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1332z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 19 frames of SSR data. See DR# N107899 for more information. * On day 026 (Jan 26), during the DSS-32 ESA support for Behind, no real-time telemetry data was received at the MOC throughout the entire track due to a mis-configuration and communication of the primary SLE telemetry server at the DSN. As this mis-configuration also affected the ability to manually retrieve the missed SSR data post-pass, and since there was an upcoming 70 meter track the next day, SSR pointers were re-positioned to locations prior to the missed ESA track. Also, at 0828z, ESA reported that the downlink signal became intermittent due to severe weather at the New Norcia complex. This anomaly resulted in SECCHI SSR1 partition reaching 100%, causing data loss at the following times: 026-2358z/0008z (00:10) 027-1818z/1829z (00:11) 028-0427z/0556z (1:29) The SECCHI team comments that the actual data loss may be less than reported. The data collected by the ESA station was eventually recovered. DSN is looking into what happened. * On day 028 (Jan 28), during the DSS-63 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1908z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. A DR has been requested. * The average daily SSR playback volume was 5.3 gigabits for Ahead, and 5.2 gigabits for Behind. Week 5 (Jan 30-Feb 5) * Turbo decoder lock was lost momentarily at 09:23 UT during the station 66 pass for Ahead yesterday (Jan 30). * The station 43 transmitter was red for the station 43 pass for Behind late last night (Jan 30), causing the pass to be downlink only. The SECCHI commands went up during the station 55 pass this morning (Jan 31). * Momentum dumps are scheduled on both spacecraft on Feb 1. The 44th momentum dump on Ahead is scheduled for 17:00 UT, and the 38th momentum dump on Behind is scheduled for 23:00 UT. * Ahead has 70 meter passes on Monday, Jan 30 (D63), Tuesday, Jan 31 (D63), Saturday, Feb 4 (D63, D14 at 720 kbps), and Sunday, Feb 5 (D14). There are 13 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. * Behind has 70 meter passes on Monday, Jan 30 (D14), and Thursday, Feb 2 (D63 at 720 kbps). There are 12 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. The station 55 pass on Jan 31 was carried out at 240 kbps. Week 6 (Feb 6-12) * There is a shadow track for Ahead using station 24 on Wednesday, Feb 8. The operational track is on station 26. The shadow track will be downlink only, and the data should not be visible in the MOC. * Ahead has 70 meter passes on Tuesday, Feb 7, Thursday, Feb 9, Friday, Feb 10, Saturday, Feb 11, and Sunday, Feb 12, all using station D14. There are 10 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. * Behind has 70 meter passes on Tuesday, Feb 7 (D63), Wednesday, Feb 8 (D63), Thursday, Feb 9 (D63), Friday, Feb 10 (D14 at 720 kbps), and Sunday, Feb 12 (D63). There are 11 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. The station 55 pass on Monday, Feb 6 will be carried out at 240 kbps. Week 7 (Feb 13-19) * The 20th SECCHI stepped calibration is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb 14, starting at 07:05 UT. System momentum is expected to be 5 N-m-s. * Ahead has 70 meter passes on Wednesday, Feb 15 (D14), Friday, Feb 17 (D14), Saturday, Feb 18 (D43), and Sunday, Feb 19 (D43). There are 9 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. * Behind has 70 meter passes on Monday, Feb 13 (D63), Tuesday, Feb 14 (D63 at 720 kbps), Wednesday, Feb 15 (D14), Friday, Feb 17 (D14), Saturday, Feb 18 (D63), and Sunday, Feb 19 (D63, D43). Other * SECCHI reported that they raised the limit temperature on the COR1-B Zone 1 thermister from 45 degrees to 55 degrees to avoid tripping a SECCHI internal autonomy rule that would have turned off COR1 observations. It was predicted that the 45 degree limit would be exceeded during February.
