STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2012-01-24 (Week 04) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 3 (Jan 16-22) * On day 016 (Jan 16), the SECCHI SSR1 science partition on Ahead reached 100% full beginning at 0609z for 0.9 hours, and again at 0949z for 1.4 hours, due to a cumulative effect of a ground anomaly on day 012 and insufficient track time. * On day 018 (Jan 18), during the DSS-25 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1718z and again at 1856z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of two frames of SSR data. See DR# N107894 for more information. * On day 022 (Jan 22), during the DSS-55 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0811z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. A DR has been requested. * On day 017 (Jan 17), during the DSS-63 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1643z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 105 frames of SSR data. See DR# N107891 for more information. * On day 020 (Jan 20), during the DSS-65 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1625z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 223 frames of SSR data. See DR# N107896 for more information. * On day 020 (Jan 20), for the DSS 25 support for Behind, the transmitter was declared red prior to the start of the track at 2355z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of all commanding and two-way tracking data for the duration of the support. Although the transmitter was recovered, it was decided to not resweep the frequencies due to the shortness of the pass. All SSR data were received. See DR# G112274 for more information. * The average daily SSR playback volume was 4.8 gigabits for Ahead, and 4.8 gigabits for Behind. Week 4 (Jan 23-29) * A command bind test with ESA was just completed (Jan 24), using the upgraded links between JPL and Germany. * Cebreros still does not have uplink approval, but uplink is possible with the ESA New Norcia station. Cebreros has not yet been used operationally, due to conflicts with other missions. * A question was asked about the quality of the operational support from the ESA stations. There was a problem with the ranging lock during the first ESA operational support, but every pass after that has been nominal. * Ahead has 70 meter passes on Wednesday, Jan 25 (D43), Friday, Jan 27 (D14), Saturday, Jan 28 (D63), and Sunday, Jan 29 (D63). There are 13 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. A 6.1 hour pass is scheduled using the ESA New Norcia station D32 late Monday. * Behind has 70 meter passes on Tuesday, Jan 24 (D63), Thursday, Jan 26 (D14 at 720 kbps), and Saturday, Jan 28 (D43 at 720 kbps, D63). There are 11 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. The station 15 pass on Saturday, Jan 28, will be carried out at 240 kbps. A 4.75 hour pass is scheduled using the ESA New Norcia station D32 on Thursday, starting at 4 UT. Week 5 (Jan 30-Feb 5) * Momentum dumps are scheduled on both spacecraft on Feb 1.
