STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2012-01-10 (Week 02) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 1 (Jan 2-8) * On day 003 (Jan 3), during the DSS-24 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1513z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of six frames of SSR data. See DR# N107858 for more information. * On day 005 (Jan 5), during the first operational ESA support with New Norcia, DSS-32, two-way ranging lock with Ahead could not be maintained using a ramped uplink frequency. Commanding was successful and all SSR data were received. * On day 008 (Jan 8), during the DSS-15 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning 1354z and again at 1419z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 54 frames of SSR data. See DR# N107865 and N107867 for more information. * On day 002 (Jan 2), the SECCHI Ahead instrument reset at 22:15:46z. The SECCHI team reconfigured the instrument to operational mode at 003-1615z the next day. This was the 26th reset of SECCHI on the Ahead spacecraft. * On day 002 (Jan 2), during the DSS-15 support for Behind, real-time telemetry was lost at 0202z for 28 minutes due to continuous DCD failovers. This anomaly resulted in the loss of an hour of SSR data. See DR# G112227 for more information. * On day 006 (Jan 6), during the DSS-25 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 2035z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. A DR has been requested. * On day 008 (Jan 8), for the second operational ESA support with New Norcia, DSS-32, with the Behind spacecraft, all tracking, telemetry, and commanding services were nominal and all SSR data was received. A fixed uplink frequency was used. * On day 008 (Jan 8), during the DSS-65 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1619z and again at 1800z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of two frames of SSR data. A DR has been requested. * The average daily SSR playback volume was 4.6 gigabits for Ahead, and 4.4 gigabits for Behind. Week 2 (Jan 9-15) * Turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 09:07 UT yesterday during the station 54 track for Ahead. This resulted in the loss of 2 frames of data. * The 20th SECCHI stepped calibration roll for Ahead was carried out this morning (Jan 10), starting at 02:40 UT. This was the midpoint roll. * The 15th HGA calibration rolls was carried out today (Jan 10) on Behind. The results look good. The roll started half an hour late due to light travel time, but was over by 17:00 UT. The HGA roll for Ahead is scheduled for Thursday, Jan 12, starting at 19:00 UT. * A 2 hour pass for Behind is scheduled on the ESA New Norcia D32 station on Saturday, Jan 14, starting at 03:20 UT. * Ahead has a 70 meter pass on Thursday, Jan 12, using station 43. There are 11 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. The station 34 pass on Saturday, Jan 14, will be carried out at 240 kbps. * Behind has 13 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are no 70 meter or high elevation passes during the week. Week 3 (Jan 16-22) * A 2.25 hour pass for Behind is scheduled on the ESA New Norcia D32 station on Thursday, Jan 19, starting at 06:30 UT. * Ahead has 70 meter passes on Monday, Jan 16 (D63), Tuesday, Jan 17 (D43), Thursday, Jan 19 (D14, D43 at 720 kbps), and Saturday, Jan 21 (D43 twice, first at 720 kbps). There are 10 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. * Behind has 70 meter passes on Monday, Jan 16, Tuesday, Jan 17, Thursday, Jan 19, Saturday, Jan 21, and Sunday, Jan 22, all using station 63. There are 15 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. The station 34 pass on Monday will be carried out at 240 kbps. Week 4 (Jan 23-29) * Ahead has 70 meter passes on Wednesday, Jan 25 (D43), Friday, Jan 27 (D14), Saturday, Jan 28 (D63), and Sunday, Jan 29 (D63). There are 13 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. A 6.1 hour pass is scheduled using the ESA New Norcia station D32 late Monday. * Behind has 70 meter passes on Tuesday, Jan 24 (D63), Thursday, Jan 26 (D14 at 720 kbps), and Saturday, Jan 28 (D43 at 720 kbps, D63). There are 11 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. The station 15 pass on Saturday, Jan 28, will be carried out at 240 kbps. A 4.75 hour pass is scheduled using the ESA New Norcia station D32 on Thursday. Week 5 (Jan 30-Feb 5) * Momentum dumps are scheduled on both spacecraft on Feb 1. The 44th momentum dump on Ahead is scheduled for 17:00 UT, and the 38th momentum dump on Behind is scheduled for 23:00 UT. * Ahead has 70 meter passes on Monday, Jan 30 (D63), Tuesday, Jan 31 (D63), Saturday, Feb 4 (D63 and D14), and Sunday, Feb 5 (D14). There are 11 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. The station 55 pass on Monday, Feb 6 will be carried out at 240 kbps. Other * PLASTIC reports a 1553 bus error message on Ahead on Jan 8. * SECCHI commented on experiencing an unexpected virtual channel during the realtime feed from the recent ESA station supports. MOC reports that the SSR data comes in realtime through virtual channel 6 during ESA supports, rather than as a file transfer. The instrument teams should select just virtual channel 7 for the normal realtime data. * The SSC will soon be replacing the computer used to connect with the MOC and with the instrument teams (anaglyph). This might require some coordination to re-enable connectivity.
