STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2011-10-25 (Week 43) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 42 (Oct 17-23) * On day 290, STEREO AHEAD was at aphelion in its heliocentric orbit. * On day 290, during the DSS 45 support for both Ahead and Behind, the transmitter was declared red prior to the track. This anomaly resulted in the loss of all commanding and two-way tracking data for the duration of the support. All SSR data were received. See DR# C108253 and C108249 for more information. * On day 291, during the DSS 55 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 09:27 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of three frames of SSR data. See DR# N107676 for more information. * On day 292, during the DSS 55 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 09:29 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of three frames of SSR data. See DR# N107679 for more information. * On day 293, during the DSS 65 support for Ahead, telemetry lock was intermittently lost beginning at 05:33 UT. The anomaly was cleared after the antenna motor was controller was reset at 06:47 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of approximately one hour of SSR data for all instruments. See DR# M106502 for more information. * On day 295, during the DSS 55 support for Behind, six seconds of telemetry were missing beginning at 15:30:50 UT. The station reported good telemetry and turbo decoder lock during this time. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 86 frames of SSR data. See DR# N107680 for more information. * The average daily SSR play back volume this week was 4.7 Gbits for Ahead and 4.3 Gbits for behind. Week 43 (Oct 24-30) * The 19th SECCHI stepped calibration roll will be carried out on Ahead on Wednesday, day 299 (Oct 26), starting at 08:25 UT. This will be the aphelion roll. The actual date of aphelion is day 290 (Oct 17). System momentum will be about 1 N-m-s. * Oct 26 is also the five year anniversary of the launch of STEREO. * Ahead has 70 meter passes on Monday, Oct 24 (D63), Tuesday, Oct 25 (D14), and Wednesday, Oct 26 (D14). There are 10 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. Two passes on Saturday will be carried out at 240 kbps. * Behind has a 70 meter pass on Wednesday, Oct 26 using station 63. There are 12 passes during the week, and coverage is short 1.2 hours on Monday and Monday, Oct 23-24, but no related problems. Week 44 (Oct 31-Nov 6) * There will be a test with the ESA reference station on Nov 1, between 14-17 UT, using simulated data. If the instrument teams are connected during this test, they will see data about 1 month old. This pass will not show up in the weekly schedule. No tracking data will be involved in the test. The test will include closing the command link. * Daylight savings time is ending in the U.S. on Nov 6 at 06:00 UT. * Ahead has 70 meter passes on Monday, Oct 31 (D14), Tuesday, Nov 1 (D14), Wednesday, Nov 2 (D63, at 720 kbps), and Saturday, Nov 5 (D43). There are 10 tracks during the week, and coverage is nominal. * Behind has 70 meter passes on Wednsday, Nov 2 (D63), and Saturday, Nov 5 (D43 at 720 kbps, and D63). There are 12 passes during the week, and coverage is short 1.4 hours between Monday and Tuesday (Oct 31-Nov 1). Week 45 (Nov 7-13) * On Monday Nov. 7 a battery discharge cycle is scheduled for Ahead from 15:00-15:18 UT. This should not affect science data collection. This is the first time this has been done since 2006, but the plan is to do it more frequently in the future, about once a year. * The 19th SECCHI stepped calibration roll on Behind will occur on Tuesday, Nov 8, starting at 9:25 UT. This will be the aphelion roll. The actual aphelion is the next day. System momentum is expected to be 5 N-m-s. * Ahead has 70 meter passes on Monday, Nov 7 (D14), Wednesday, Nov 9 (D63), Friday, Nov 11 (D63), Saturday, Nov 12 (D63 at 720 kbps), and Sunday, Nov 13 (D14). There are 10 passes during the week, and coverage is nominal. The Thursday pass on station 15 will be carried out at 240 kbps. * Behind has two 70 meter passes on Thursday, Nov 10 (D63), and Saturday, Nov 12 (D43 twice, first at 720 kbps).
