STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2011-09-20 (Week 38) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * The high current autonomy rule turned off the IMPACT and PLASTIC yesterday (Sep 19). See below for details. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 37 (Sep 12-18) * On day 256 (Sep 13), during the DSS 63 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly beginning at 1022z. Later in the support, the transmitter tripped off-line at 1110z. To avoid additional SSR data loss, the remainder of the track was downlink only. These anomalies resulted in the loss of several minutes of SSR data for all instruments. See DR# M106470 for more information. * On day 257 (Sep 14), during the DSS 15 support for Ahead, telemetry lock was lost intermittently beginning at 1941z through 2055z due to RFI at the Goldstone complex. This resulted in the loss of several minutes of SSR data. See DR# G111954 for more information. * On day 260 (Sep 17), during the DSS 63 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly beginning at 1049z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of five frames of SSR data for all instruments. * On day 261 (Sep 18), during the DSS 55 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly beginning at 0915z and again at 1314z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of three frames of SSR data for all instruments. * On day 256 (Sep 13), during the DSS 63 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 1625z through 1830z. This resulted in the loss of 44 frames of SSR data. See DR# N107600 for more information. * On day 257 (Sep 14), during the DSS 63 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly beginning at 1728z. This resulted in the loss of two frames of SSR data. See DR# N107601 for more information. * On day 258 (Sep 15), during the DSS 63 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly beginning at 1710z and again at 1802z. This resulted in the loss of three frames of SSR data. See DR# N107604 for more information. * On day 259 (Sep 16), during the DSS 63 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly beginning at 1515z. This resulted in the loss of 176 frames of SSR data. See DR# N107606 for more information. * The average daily SSR playback volume during the week was 4.7 gigabits for Ahead, and 5.5 gigabits for Behind. Week 38 (Sep 19-25) * The high current autonomy rule for the IMPACT/PLASTIC IDPU fired yesterday (Sep 19) on Ahead at 15:43 UT, turning off the IMPACT and PLASTIC instruments. The same anomaly occurred on Jan 8 on Behind. The maximum current was not available in the telemetry, but must have exceeded 0.25 amps for 3 seconds to fire the autonomy rule. All other telemetry values were nominal. IMPACT MAG and STE instruments were recovered at 18:00 UT yesterday, and SWEA was recovered at 10:45 this morning (Sep 20). PLASTIC was recovered at 13:43 UT. The SEP suite still needs to be recovered, which will take place during commanding opportunities tomorrow and Thursday (Sep 21-22). * The MOC will check whether the external network switch at APL took place as scheduled yesterday (Sep 19) * Ahead has 70 meter passes on Thursday, Sep 22 (D14), and Friday, Sep 23 (D63). There are 9 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. * Behind has 70 meter passes on Monday, Sep 19 (D63), Tuesday, Sep 20 (D63), Wednesday, Sep 21 (D63), Thursday, Sep 22 (D63), Friday, Sep 23 (D63), Saturday, Sep 24 (D43 and D63), and Sunday, Sep 25 (D63). However, many of these 70 meter passes are short. There are 11 passes during the week. Coverage is about two hours short on Thursday, Sep 22, and an hour short on Friday, Sep 23. This may be close for the in situ instruments. Week 39 (Sep 26 - Oct 2) * Ahead has 70 meter passes on Tuesday, Sep 27 (D14 and D43), Wednesday, Sep 28 (D14), and Thursday, Sep 29 (D14).
