STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2010-01-19 (Week 03) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 2 * Telemetry lock was briefly lost at 06:53 UT during the station 54 pass for Ahead on Jan 14. A total of 11 SSR frames were lost. * Station 26 was red for the scheduled Ahead pass on Jan 17. Station 14 was brought online to substitute, but the pass started 52 minutes later than scheduled. This resulted in the loss of mostly spacecraft telemetry, and a few minutes of SSR data for all instruments. * Station 26 was also red for the scheduled Behind pass on Jan 17. Station 14 was brought online to cover the first part of the pass, through 03:10 UT the next day. Station 15 was brought online at 3:00 UT to cover the remainder of the pass, with a 10 minute overlap. No commands were sent, and SSR pointers were not moved. It is not known yet whether this resulted in the loss of any instrument data, due to the DSN CDR being offline since 04:00 UT this morning. IMPACT/PLASTIC saw no messages from the IDPU indicating full buffers, but it's not known whether any SWAVES or SECCHI data were lost. * Telemetry lock was lost momentarily at 14:22 UT during the station 55 pass for Behind on Jan 16. This resulted in the loss of 3 SSR frames. Known problems with station 55 were the cause of this event. However, this was the only problem seen during the five station 55 supports during the week. * The average daily SSR downlink was 6.4 gigabits on Ahead, and 5.3 gigabits on Behind. * An interesting event known as a "solar tsunami" (EIT wave) was observed by EUVI-Behind on Sunday, Jan 17, starting around 04:00 UT. This event was also seen as a strong Type III burst by SWAVES. Week 3 * The 27th momentum dump on Ahead was completed this morning (Jan 19), starting at 16:00 UT. * The rescheduled 12th SECCHI stepped calibration roll on Behind took place this morning (Jan 19), starting at 08:40 UT. Week 4 * A four hour track on Behind is scheduled using station 43 on Jan 28. This is a 70 meter station, and the track will be carried out at 720 kbps. Week 5 * The 21st momentum dump will be carried out on Behind on Feb 3, starting at 18:00 UT. Week 6 * Longer than usual gaps between tracks will occur for both spacecraft during the week. To alleviate this, the MOC will move pointers during the tracks for both Ahead and Behind on day 39 (Feb 8), for Ahead on day 42 (Feb 11). * Behind is scheduled to use the 70 meter station 43 on Feb 14. This track will be carried out at 720 kbps.
