STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2010-01-12 (Week 02) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * The SECCHI stepped calibration roll on Behind has been rescheduled for Jan 19, starting at 08:40 UT. See below for details. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 1 * Uplink was disabled for four minutes during the station 55 pass for Behind on Jan 8. This happened while SECCHI was commanding. The whole command load was retransmitted during the following pass. This resulted in the loss of several minutes of SSR data for all instruments. * The 11th HGA calibrations were carried out on both spacecraft on Jan 6. Alignments continue to be good. * The station 15 status was red for the Behind pass on Jan 6, due to a pointing anomaly. Station 26 was substituted, and all SSR data were recovered. * A SECCHI reset occurred on Behind on Jan 5 at 21:25 UT. This was a different kind of reset from the watchdog resets that have been seen in the past. SECCHI underwent a warm restart, going from Ops mode directly back into Ops mode. A similar incident was seen once during pre-launch I&T. When SECCHI restarted, it loaded the observation schedule automatically, but tried to reload the entire day's worth of observations. This led to a backup in the schedule, which caused a large number of corrupted images. At 0 UT, it tried to load the next day's schedule, which intensified the backup. The SECCHI team solved the problem by starting the schedule fresh at 4 UT on Jan 6. * The 12th SECCHI stepped calibration roll was carried out on Behind on Jan 5, starting at 12:15 UT. This was the midpoint roll. However, a mistake in the SECCHI scheduling process caused the observations to be taken at the wrong time. The roll has been rescheduled for Jan 19th. * The average daily SSR downlink was 6.5 gigabits for Ahead, and 5.4 gigabits for Behind. * PLASTIC increased their MCP voltage on Behind on Jan 8. This operation went smoothly. Week 2 * No significant activities planned. Week 3 * The 27th momentum dump will be carried out on Ahead on Jan 19, starting at 16:00 UT. * The rescheduled 12th SECCHI stepped calibration roll on Behind will take place on Jan 19, starting at 08:40 UT. Week 4 * A four hour track on Behind is scheduled using station 43 on Jan 28. This is a 70 meter station, and the track will be carried out at 720 kbps. Week 5 * The 21st momentum dump will be carried out on Behind on Feb 3, starting at 18:00 UT. Week 6 * Longer than usual gaps between tracks will occur for both spacecraft during the week. To alleviate this, the MOC will move pointers during the tracks for both Ahead and Behind on day 39 (Feb 8), for Ahead on day 42 (Feb 11). * Behind is scheduled to use the 70 meter station 43 on Feb 14. This track will be carried out at 720 kbps. Other * The last several tracks using station 55 have run smoothly, without the dropped frames that were previously seen.
