STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2009-09-29 (Week 40) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 39 * An intrusion detection system was installed on the IONet this week. It will initially be in bypass mode, and enabled the week. Instrument operations will not be affected. * Behind reached aphelion on day 264 (Sep 21). * Command bind was lost at 04:24 UT during the Ahead pass on station 55 on day 264 (Sept 21) due to an exciter equipment anomaly. One command was sent before the loss of the command bind. All SSR data was recovered. * Command bind was lost at 07:07 UT during the Ahead pass on station 55 on day 265 (Sept 22) due to an exciter equipment anomaly. The MOC re-established the command bind before EOT. All SSR data was recovered. * Could not lock to telemetry at 06:10 UT during Behind pass on station 34 on day 265 (Sept 22) due to a receiver equipment anomaly. A spare receiver chain was placed on-line and telemetry lock was received at 0623z. This resulted in the loss of 12 minutes of real-time telemetry and ranging data. All SSR data was recovered. * During the Ahead pass on station 25 on day 267 (Sept 24), the station transmitter power was limited to 10 kW. This was sufficient to close the RF link on AHEAD. All SSR data was recovered. * A receiver anomaly occurred at 13:30 UT during the Behind pass on station 63 on day 268 (Sept 25). This resulted in the loss of minor SECCHI SSR data, 277 minutes of ranging data, and 2-way Doppler data. * Command bind was lost at 16:06 UT during the Behind pass on station 55 on day 269 (Sept 26) due to an exciter equipment anomaly. One command was sent before the loss of the command bind. All SSR data was recovered. * During the Ahead pass on station 25 on day 270 (Sept 27), the station transmitter power was limited to 10 kW. This was sufficient to close the RF link on AHEAD. All SSR data was recovered. * The uploading of G&C software load 3.2.6 to copy 1 has been delayed, until the pointing anomaly seen on Sep 10 is understood. * JOP 224, "Solar Tomography with Minimal Solar Rotation", starts on Sep 27, and runs through Oct 27. * The average daily downlink was 5.5 gigabits on Ahead, and 6.2 gigabits on Behind. Week 40 * The intrusion detection system will be enabled. This may affect real-time operations for about 1 minute or so. * SECCHI Ahead reset at 17:28 UT on day 271 (Sept 28) * A receiver failed on Behind pass on station 15 at 23:04 UT on day 271 (Sept 28). There was a quick response switching to backup so only minor data loss. * Messenger flies by Mercury on day 272 (Sep 29). * The 11th SECCHI stepped calibration will be carried out on Behind on Sep 30, starting at 18:10 UT. Week 41 * No significant activities planned. * Short tracks for Ahead on day 281 and 283. Week 42 * The 25th momentum dump for Ahead on day 288 (Oct 15) at 17:00 UT. Week 43 * No significant activities planned. Week 44 * No significant activities planned. * Behind reaches L5 on day 299 (Oct 26). * Daylight savings ends on day 305 (Nov 1) at 06:00 UT.
