STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2009-06-30 (Week 27) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * All essential internet services at APL were restored on day 180 (Jun 29), allowing the return back to unattended passes. Not all services are available on a 24 hour schedule, but sufficient services are available for unattended operations. The internet outage delayed data delivery and prevented remote operations for about 24 hours from Jun 14-15. The restricted IONET used for operations was never affected. * The STEREO Science Center website is temporarily unavailable. A minimal website has been brought up with some, but not all, of the functionality of the original website. In the meantime, many of the data can be retrieved through the anonymous ftp server at stereoftp.nascom.nasa.gov. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 26 * On day 174 (Jun 23), during the Ahead pass on station 25, the transmitter could not complete calibration before beginning of track because of a power supply problem. This resulted in the loss of 83 minutes of commanding and tracking data. * Station 15 was declared red on day 177 (Jun 26) at 14:30 UT. Station 24 support was added as a backup for the Ahead pass on day 178 (Jun 27). This resulted in both stations establishing uplinks simultaneously at 13:50 UT, resulting in a loss of seven minutes of SSR data. * The 22nd momentum dump on Ahead was carried out on day 176 (Jun 25), imparting a delta-V or 0.0666 m/s. * Telemetry lock was lost briefly lost during the Behind track on station 55 on day 176 (Jun 25) at 16:24 UT. This resulted in a small amount of SECCHI data loss. * Tracking data was lost for 10 minutes during the station 25 pass on Behind on day 178 (Jun 27) due to an equipment problem. * The average daily SSR downlink was 6.0 gigabits on Ahead, and 6.3 gigabits on Behind. Week 27 * The tenth high gain antenna calibrations are scheduled for Behind at 17:00 UT on day 182 (Jul 1), and for Ahead at 14:00 UT on day 183 (Jul 2). These will be the first calibrations using the recommended reduced roll and gimbal ranges of +/- 0.5 degrees. Week 28 * SECCHI plans to upload a new image processor patch on Behind on Monday (Jul 6), and on Ahead on Tuesday (Jul 7). This is to improve the HI2 beacon images. * The sixth HI 180 degree rolls are scheduled on Wednesday, Jul 8, at 01:50 UT on Ahead, and 15:50 UT on Behind. Week 29 * No significant activities planned. Other * The G&C update, and associated reset, has been scheduled for Ahead on Aug 4 at 9:40 UT, with a backup date on Aug 5. This activity will be carried out on station 14, which is a 70 meter dish. The tracks are 8 hours long. There is also a 3 hour support before the activity. * UNH mail will be down for a few days because of equipment problems. * Authorization is needed for FDF accounts for STEREO. * Permission is needed to install software on instrument POC workstations. Without this permission, the workstations will not have access to the internet.
