STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2009-06-02 (Week 23) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 22 * The station 45 transmitter went red just before the Ahead pass on day 147 (May 27). This resulted in the loss of 295 minutes of commanding and tracking data. All SSR data was recovered. However, because the SSR pointers were not reset, the SECCHI synoptic partition reached 100% full, thus resulting in the loss of subsequent data. * The fourth HI 180 degree rolls were carried out for both Ahead and Behind on day 147 (May 27). * The station 26 antenna brakes were set during the Behind pass on day 150 (May 30) due to a changeover from generator to commercial power at 04:35 UT. This resulted in the loss of 58 frames of SSR data, affecting all the instruments. All services were restored at 05:20 UT. * The average daily SSR downlink was 5.4 gigabits on Ahead, and 6.5 gigabits on Behind. * Because of the internet down time at APL on Saturday, the IPR files for days 149 and 150 (May 29-30) are still being processed. Updated level-0 files will be available at the latest by tomorrow morning (Jun 3). * Some issues are still being cleared up after the internet down time on Saturday. Some firewall rules were not initially restored. These issues are being gradually resolved. * IMPACT received a message about an incomplete command, but didn't actually send a command. This was a side effect of the internet outage. Week 23 * This afternoon (Jun 2), SECCHI Ahead will have a software update. The image processing software will be updated in order to change the way HI spaceweather images are processed. * The Thursday (Jun 4) track for Ahead was originally shorter than normal. Now that the LRO launch has been delayed, it has been restored to 5 hours. * Ahead will reach aphelion on day 158 (Jun 7) at 18:45 UT. * The 16th momentum dump on Behind is scheduled for June 4th, starting at 15:00 UT. Week 24 * The 9th SECCHI stepped calibration on Ahead will be carried out on Tuesday, Jun 9, starting at 09:50 UT. * On June 8 the station 45 track for Behind is shorter (3.6 hours). A regular 5 hour track follows this nine hours later. Week 25 * LRO launch is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17th. * There is a possibility of a 48 hour gap between passes for Ahead from Wednesday to Friday (Jun 17-19) because of the LRO launch. The MOC is looking into possibilities to alleviate this, such as inserting a shorter track (e.g. 2 hours). Several tracks have moved because of the changed LRO launch date. The Behind track on the 19th has been shortened from 5 to 3.9 hours. Negotiations are underway, and the schedule should settle out by tomorrow (Jun 3). * The fifth HI 180 degree rolls are scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, at 01:50 for Ahead, and 15:50 for Behind. * The 10th SECCHI stepped calibration roll on Behind is scheduled for Tuesday, Jun 16, at 11:30. This is the midpoint roll. Other * No date has been set yet for the reset on Ahead. This is expected to occur sometime in August, possibly in the first week. * The MOC reports that the viewperiod files for both Ahead and Behind for day 130 (May 10) appear to be corrupted. * The version 3 level-0 files for days 136, 137, and 138 are missing for some reason. The MOC will regenerate them. * The next momentum dump for Ahead is planned to occur around day 178 (Jun 27). Because of the significant LRO activities around that time, this should be scheduled with the DSN as early as possible. * The launch window for the Sunrise balloon flight is now open. This is a five day flight, with a launch window from Jun 1 to Jul 10. A new website is now available giving the flight schedule at http://www.mps.mpg.de/services/sunrise/sot/sot.php COORDINATED OBSERVATIONS ------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scheduled activities for Week 23: M Jun 01 (152) T Jun 02 (153) W Jun 03 (154) T Jun 04 (155) Behind: Momentum dump, 15:00 UT F Jun 05 (156) S Jun 06 (157) S Jun 07 (158) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scheduled activities for Week 24: M Jun 08 (159) T Jun 09 (160) Ahead: SECCHI stepped calibration roll W Jun 10 (161) T Jun 11 (162) F Jun 12 (163) S Jun 13 (164) S Jun 14 (165) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Upcoming events: 2009: ICAL-001: May 11-22, Jun 15-19, Jul 13-17, Aug 17-21, Sep 14-18, Oct 12-16 SECCHI Stepped calibration rolls Ahead: Jun 9, Sep 2, Nov 24 Behind: Jun 16, Sep 22, Dec 22 * Mar 16-Sep LASCO C2pB for Tomography Reconstruction * Mar 27-...
