STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2008-09-02 (Week 36) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 35 * All instrument POC equipment has been moved. SECCHI, SWAVES, and IMPACT have tested their POC equipment after the move. Testing for PLASTIC is still to be scheduled. SWAVES tested telemetry receipt on both spacecraft, and the sending of commands on Ahead, but not Behind because of the pass schedule. * On day 242 (Aug 29), during the Ahead pass on station 45, the azimuth brake failed at 18:24 UT. Realtime telemetry and ranging was lost for 2 minutes, as well as some SECCHI playback data, until tracking was restored. * SECCHI loaded flight software patch 5.09 onto Ahead on day 241 (Aug 28). * The SECCHI aphelion stepped calibration roll was carried out on Behind on day 239 (Aug 26). All indications are that the roll was successful. * The average daily downlink volume was 7.5 gigabits on Ahead and 7.7 gigabits on Behind. Week 36 * A Project Interface Test will be performed on Behind late tomorrow (Sep 3) to test out new DTT & SPS software. The recorder won't be played back during this test, since there will be another track immediately following. Week 37 * No special activities planned. Week 38 * The 16th momentum dump on Ahead is planned for day 260 (Sep 16) at 13:00 UT. * Behind will switch to 480 kbps on Sep 15. Week 39 * A momentum dump on Behind is planned for day 267 (Sep 23) at 17:00 UT. Week 40 * The next SECCHI stepped calibration roll on Ahead would normally be scheduled for day 264 (Sep 20). However, the predicted momentum wheels for this date are very high, and SECCHI might not get the needed pointing accuracy for the roll. Therefore, the roll has been rescheduled to day 274 (Sep 30). Other * Discussions have been ongoing about maintenance on the restricted IONET. Notice will be given before any future work, and there will be discussion beforehand with the mission teams. * JOP 214 has been added to the schedule for Sep 6-19. SECCHI participation has been requested.
