STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2008-08-26 (Week 35) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 34 * On day 233 (Aug 20), during the Ahead pass on station 26, no realtime telemetry, commanding, or monitoring was available for the duration of the pass. The problem was traced to a change on the IONET configuration. All SSR data was recovered. * The same problem occured the next day (Aug 21) for the first hour during the station 24 pass on Behind. JPL restored the IONET configuration to resolve the problem. This represents the third such incident in recent weeks, with a total of 16 hours of impact on the mission. A comment was made that the incidents occur several hours after the work which caused the problem, and that the DSN needs to address these issues. * The average daily downlink was 7.4 gigabits on Ahead and 7.8 gigabits on Behind. * A pointing anomaly occured on Behind on Aug 19. This was due to a GT pointing lock loss during a roll speed avoidance procedure. The problem is similar to that which used to be seen on SECCHI stepped calibration rolls. An upcoming G&C software load may fix the problem. Week 35 * The SECCHI aphelion stepped calibration roll is scheduled on Behind today (Aug 26) at 20:15 UT. Behind will reach aphelion on Thursday (Aug 28), at 20:00 UT. * All instrument POC equipment has been moved, and testing has begun. IMPACT will be testing on both Ahead and Behind tomorrow (Aug 27), and SECCHI will be testing for both spacecraft on Friday (Aug 29). SWAVES is also testing this week. PLASTIC testing is still to be scheduled. * SECCHI will perform a software patch on Ahead on Thursday (Aug 28) at 12:00 UT. Week 36 * A Project Interface Test will be performed on Behind on Thursday (Sep 4) to test out new DTT & SPS software. Week 37 * No special activities planned. Week 38 * A momentum dump on Ahead is planned for day 260 (Sep 16) at 13:00 UT. Week 39 * A momentum dump on Behind is planned for day 267 (Sep 23) at 17:00 UT.
