STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2008-07-15 (Week 29) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 28 * During the Ahead pass on day 191 (Jul 9), the station 25 transmitter went offline at 09:30. The pass was switched to station 26 at 11:35 for the HGA calibration. A few minutes of SECCHI data were lost. * On day 193 (Jul 11), during the Ahead pass, the receiver went red on station 26, and the pass was switched to station 24. A few minutes of SECCHI data were lost. * The second of the SECCHI GT-driven off-points for EUVI calibration was carried out on day 189 (Jul 7) at 16:15 UT. * The 8th HGA calibrations were carried out on both spacecraft on day 191 (Jul 9). The alignment looks good. HGA roll contingency scripts were also tested successfully. * On day 195 (Jul 13) during the Behind pass, power was lost at station 25, which then switched to generator power. This resulted in the loss of 40 minutes of command and tracking data, and over an hour of SECCHI data. * The average daily downlink was 7.7 gigabits on Ahead, and 7.4 gigabits on Behind. * It was noticed that SWAVES submitted some commands on day 195 (Jul 13) after the start of the pass. These commands did not go out until the next day. SWAVES reports that the commands were actually for several days later, so there was no problem. Week 29 * The 10th momentum dump will be performed on Behind on day 199 (Jul 17) at 19:45 UT. Week 30 * Nothing unusual planned. Week 31 * There will be a test of the 480 kbps telemetry rate on Ahead on Thursday, Jul 31. This test will be primarily for the MOps and DSN. This rate has been used on the spacecraft in the past. The track will be 5 hours in duration, and will be 24 hours after the preceeding track. The telemetry will be in Turbo 1/4 and NRZ-L format. * There will be another track on Ahead on Jul 31, 3 hours after the previous track. This track will be at 720 kbps, and will include a momentum dump at 20:20 UT. * There will be a total solar eclipse at Earth on Friday, Aug 1. SECCHI will support the eclipse observations by moving their high cadence observations to 8-12 UT, which includes the eclipse times at Earth. The first track after the eclipse will be on Ahead at 11:30 UT. Information about total solar eclipse is available at http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEmono/TSE2008/TSE2008.html Week 32 * Five hour tracks will begin August 4 on both spacecraft. Ahead will drop to 480 kbps on August 11, and Behind on September 8.
