STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2008-05-06 (Week 19) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * The telecom normally scheduled for May 27th will be cancelled because of the AGU meeting. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 18 * Station 65 lost power at the start of the Behind track on day 121 (Apr 30). Power was restored, and telemetry was received about 30 minutes into the track, but no uplink was available. Telemetry was switched to station 54. Minor data loss occured during the uplink sweep. * Station 65 was still unavailable for the Behind pass on day 122 (May 1). The track was switched to station 54 before the beginning of the pass. * On day 125 (May 4), during the Behind pass on station 34, no realtime or monitor data was available within the MOC because of a ground system problem. Realtime data was restored late in the track. No SSR data was lost. This has been a recurring problem, and is being worked on. * The average daily downlink was 6.9 gigabits on Ahead, and 7.7 gigabits on Behind. Week 19 * The 13th momentum dump on Ahead will occur tomorrow (May 7) at 12:45 UT. * Several new G&C parameters will be uplinked to RAM tomorrow on Ahead, and Thursday (May 8) on Behind, as part of the continuing tune up in case of loss of star tracker. * There will be a return-to-service track for Ahead on station 15 Thursday. No SSR playback will occur during this track. * All the Behind tracks are very early in the morning Eastern time this week. * IMPACT will perform a LET software patch. * IT maintenance will be performed at APL on Saturday, May 10. This will only affect remote operations for the MOps team. Week 20 * The 9th momentum dump on Behind will be performed Thursday, May 15 at 22:40 UT. Week 21 * IMPACT will perform realtime commanding to tweak HET thresholds on both spacecraft, Tuesday, May 20. * A SECCHI stepped calibration roll will be performed on Behind on day 141, May 20, starting at 11:30 UT. Week 22 * Nothing unusual scheduled. Other * The SSC has asked for the instrument teams to review the current STEREO Science Operations Plan, and consider how it would be changed for the extended mission. Preliminary comments have been requested by the end of the month. Since the last week of the month is the AGU meeting, this has been extended to the first week of June. * Some hardware problems have affect SSC operations over the last two weeks. The first problem involved a problem with the computer at NRL used to ship the SECCHI data to the SSC. This problem was fixed, but the cron jobs used to send the data did not start up properly. This latter problem was not recognized and corrected until after returning from the SWG. After this was corrected, a problem developed on the file system used for the SSC website. The website was switched over to the backup, while the original file system underwent system checks over the weekend. The original file system was restored yesterday (May 5), and all systems appear to be operating normally again.
