STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2008-04-08 (Week 15) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * The weekly telecon that would normally take place on April 22 will be canceled because of the STEREO Science Working Group meeting in Paris. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 14 * The SECCHI stepped calibration on Ahead was successfully carried out on day 92 (April 1) at 10:35 UT. William Thompson reports that an apparent pointing excursion occured during this maneuver at 12:22 UT, as seen in the COR1 data. * SWAVES performed a flight software load on the Ahead spacecraft on April 1, and on the Behind spacecraft April 2. * The 7th high gain antenna calibrations were carried out on both spacecraft on April 2. At 15:20, during preparation for this activity on Ahead, about 3-4 minutes of SSR science playback data was lost because insufficient time was allowed between stopping the playback and reconfiguring to 93 kbps for the maneuver. Only realtime data from the SSR was lost. * On day 94 (April 3), it was noted that the IMPACT SWEA temperature on Ahead had dropped to -45 degrees C. It was determined by the IMPACT team that this was due to a SWEA reset, and the instrument was recovered during the track. * A fault protection load was successfully loaded to both Ahead and Behind on Thursday, day 94 (Apr 3). * On day 91 (Mar 31), ranging lock and command bind were lost during the Behind track on station 25 for 20 minutes starting at 20:25 due to a problem at the station. This resulted in a lost of ranging data. * On day 93 (April 2), during the Behind pass on station 26, AOS was 19 minutes late. Some SECCHI data loss occured around the day 93/94 rollover. * The average daily downlink was 7.1 gigabits on Ahead, and 7.4 gigabits on Behind. Week 15 * An IMPACT LET software patch was loaded on Behind yesterday (April 7). * Switch maintenance will be performed at JPL today (Apr 8), starting at 21:00 UT and lasting for 10 minutes. Command bind and realtime telemetry will be lost during this time. * SECCHI will upload software load 5.08 on both spacecraft tomorrow (Apr 9). Week 16 * No unusual activities. Week 17 * No unusual activities. Week 18 * No unusual activities. Other * The Whole Heliospheric Interval started Thursday, March 20, and runs through April 16th. Only STEREO synoptic data is requested. So far, the campaign is running well, with the exception that Hinode participation is constrained by their current telemetry rates.
