STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2007-12-04 (Week 49) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * No announcements INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 48 * The average daily downlink was 7.3 gigabits for Ahead and 7.0 gigabits for Behind. * On day 330 (Nov 26) SECCHI successfully loaded software patch 5.07 on both spacecraft. * On day 333 (Nov 29) macros were loaded into EEPROM on Ahead to give more robustness for SSR playback. * The sixth momentum dump was carried out on Behind on Wednesday (Nov 28), imparting a delta-V of 0.0695 m/s. * There were two instance of SECCHI filling the SSR1 buffer on Behind, on Friday, Nov 30 and Sunday, Dec 2. The pointers were moved on Friday to free up space, but not on Sunday. The SECCHI team reports that they have moved to customized schedules starting today (Dec 4) so that this should no longer happen. Week 49 * PLASTIC will perform realtime commanding on Behind on Thursday (Dec 6), starting at 14:30 UT. Week 50 * JPL will be testing automatic switchovers on Wednesday, day 364 (Dec 12). The MOC will coordinate with JPL, and will not be commanding during testing. Only realtime telemetry will be affected--playback is not affected. Week 51 * There will be a momentum dump on Ahead on Thursday, day 340 (Dec 20), at 14:00 UT Other * The second SECCHI campaign is scheduled for Jan 7-20. There will be a second pass each day for SECCHI data only, with the passes approximately 12 hours apart. * Messenger will fly by Mercury on January 14th, during the SECCHI campaign. It's very important that no activities be planned which would interfere with getting data during the Mercury fly-by. * Flight dynamics reports that the tracking data recently hasn't been as good as previously. Another week of data is needed to see if this is due to a bad pass which needs to be weeded out. * The Whole Heliospheric Interval is scheduled for March 20 to April 16. There are a number of new JOPs associated with this campaign which have been added to the SSC website. * The period of quadrature with Ulysses is starting, and runs through May. A writeup about the quadrature is listed below.
