ANNOUNCEMENTS
-------------

* The DMZ at APL underwent maintenance on Wednesday evening, August 29th.
  Instrument workstations at the MOC may need to reconnect.


INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS
--------------------------------

* All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead
  spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2.


DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS
-------------------------------------

Week 35

* On day 241 (Aug 29), during the Ahead track on station 241, the command state
  went to abort.  The command link was reestablished, and some SECCHI commands
  were resent.  The cause of this problem is unknown.

* The average daily downlink was 7.3 gigabits for Ahead, and 7.2 gigabits for
  Behind.

* There were four separate instances of problems communicating with Behind from
  station 55 in Madrid.  The station was experiencing a coolant problem with
  the transmitter.  This led to problems on days 241, 242, 243 and 245.  There
  are gaps in the data because of the resweeps used to reestablish contact.
  The problem should now be fixed, and the track yesterday on that station went
  well.

* New calibration tables for the IMPACT SIT were uploaded to Behind on day 240
  (Aug 28).

* On day 244, during the Behind track on station 34, SECCHI had a watchdog
  error.  This caused the GT rate usage autonomy rule to be tripped.  SECCHI
  was recovered during the following track.  This is the 3rd watchdog error on
  Behind--the previous error was 2 months earlier.  The SECCHI team is looking
  into what options they have for making recovery more automatic.

* SECCHI had problems connecting from their POC at APL on Saturday.  This may
  be connected to the DMZ maintenance that occured last Wednesday.  APL will
  generate a problem report.

Week 36

* The MOC is performing a fault protection autonomy load to EEPROM to clear out
  configuration macros used prior to launch.

* There are a number of extra tracks planned on both spacecraft.

Week 37

* SELENE launch from Japan is planned for day 256 (Sep. 13).  This causes time
  changes on some tracks.

* PLASTIC flight software updates will be loaded to Behind on Tuesday, Sep 11,
  with follow-up on Wednesday.

Week 38

* The DSN schedules for this week are not yet available.

Week 39

* The launch of DAWN is scheduled for Sept. 26 at 11:29 UTC.  DSN schedules
  are still being worked out.

* Momentum dumps for both spacecraft are pencilled in for Sept. 26, depending
  on the DSN schedule.

Week 40

* HGA calibrations are scheduled for both spacecraft on day 276 (Oct 3),
  depending on the DSN schedule.

Other

* HI1-B images occasionally show multiple star images which are apparently
  caused by changes in pointing during the 40 minute exposures.  This is seen
  periodically.  Guide telescope data show that this is not due to a change in
  pointing of the spacecraft.  The SECCHI team will produce a list of dates and
  times when this effect is seen, to compare against other data.
