STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2007-08-14 (Week 33) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * Starting approximately a couple of weeks from now, the start of the recorder playback will be 3 minutes later into the pass to give more time for the uplink sweep, now that the spacecraft are further away. This will mean that the total recorder playback will be 3 minutes shorter. The date of this change will be announced prior to its implementation. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 32 * On day 217 (previous week) G&C data was lost because of a Phoenix contingency track that was unused because of the successful launch of Phoenix on day 216. * The average daily SSR playback wa 7.4 gigabits on Ahead, and 8.3 gigabits on Behind. * On day 219 (Aug 7) a SECCHI command load failed because the ground software had a too small timeout. This was fixed, and SECCHI redid the load on the following track. Week 33 * COR2 offpoint occuring today (Aug 14). * Momentum dump on Ahead occuring Thursday (Aug 16, day 228) at 22:45 UT. * SECCHI plans to do a software upload on Ahead on day 229 at 13:10 UT. * JOP 194 ends on Saturday, Aug 18 (day 230). * Ulysses is currently passing through the ecliptic plane. Week 34 * There will be 8 tracks on Ahead and 8 tracks on Behind. Week 35 * Nothing unusual planned Other * Classifier table load being prepared for PLASTIC to be uploaded over the next two weeks. Currently testing on EM test unit. The PLASTIC team plans to do one spacecraft first, and then the other a few days later. IMPACT participation is not required. * The PLASTIC team asked about increasing the current 3 minute warning on thruster firings to 4 minutes. Particles were seen entering the instrument during the last momentum dump. It takes about 2 minutes to shut down the PLASTIC entrance system, and a 3 minute warning may be pushing the envelope. The MOC team will look into what can be done.
