STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2007-07-10 (Week 28) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 27 * On day 186, the command frame buffer size was increased from 10 to 60 frames on both spacecraft to accommodate the long round-trip light travel time. * Ahead is still operating in IMU #2. There will be a teleconference with Honeywell on July 19th. * The 6th momentum dump was performed on Ahead on day 186. * The new PLASTIC DPU software has an option for safing the entrance system during the momentum dump and then automatically reenabling it after the dump is over. This worked successfully during the momentum dump. Previously, the entrance system had to be reenabled by ground command. The same PLASTIC flight software was uploaded to Behind on day 183. * The average daily downlink was 7.2 gigabits from Ahead, and 7.8 gigabits from Behind. * The station 34 track for Behind on day 188 was shortened by 35 minutes for a DAWN launch rehearsal. This has no impact on the SSR downlink. * The DAWN launch has slipped to September. The next launches which can affect the STEREO DSN schedules are Phoenix on August 3 at 09:35 UTC, and Selene on August 16 at 00:30 UTC. The primary and contingency DSN plans based on the Phoenix launch should be available by the end of the week. Week 28 * Ahead track times were changed because of the DAWN launch slip. The science playback on Ahead on Monday, July 9th, was shortened by 40 minutes. Although some data was left on the SECCHI synoptic buffer, all data was recovered in the next track. * HGA calibrations will be performed on both spacecraft on Wednesday, July 11th. The tracks durations are extended to 7 hours to accommodate this activity. Week 29 * The SECCHI GT disable test has been scheduled for day 199 at 12:11:30 on Ahead and 17:27 on Behind. The test lasts 10 minutes. Week 30 * A momentum dump on the Behind spacecraft is scheduled for July 25. Other * The MOC asked the SECCHI team whether they have been changing the GT bias, because they see apparent pointing changes on the order of several hundred microradians. SECCHI responded that the bias has not changed, and that such pointing changes are not seen in their images. * The SECCHI offset maneuver is still being planned. The spacecraft will need to disable GT use during this test. * The SECCHI campaign dates of January 7-20 have been approved by the MOC. These dates still need to be submitted to the DSN.
