INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS

* All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead
  spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2.


DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS
-------------------------------------

Week 24

* DSN station 15 was 2.5 hours late coming up for the pass on Ahead on day 168,
  leading to a loss of data.  This also affected the attitude history files,
  which are missing data from about 15:58 on day 167 to 10:25 on day 168.

* Ahead is still operating on IMU #2.

* The average daily telemetry downlink was 6.1 gigabits for Ahead and 7.6
  gigabits for Behind.

* On day 167, SECCHI went into maintenance mode on Ahead at 10:07 UT due to a
  watchdog error.  This was noticed at the start of the track, and the SECCHI
  team was able to recover the instrument by the end of the track.  This is the
  third time this is has happened on Ahead.  The SECCHI reports that the time
  between watchdog errors is getting longer.

* There were no anomalies last week on the Behind spacecraft.

* On day 165 a new autonomy rule was loaded onto the Behind spacecraft to use
  star tracker rates when both IMUs are unhealthy.  This rule was previously
  loaded on Ahead.

Week 25

* The DSN had a problem with the ranging during the Ahead track on Monday, day
  169.  The Doppler data was degraded.

* Friday will mark the 150th day of science operations on heliocentric orbit,
  which satisfies the first part of the minimum mission success criteria.

* PLASTIC requests realtime commanding for today, day 171, on Behind.  Time
  should be available starting around 4:00 P.M. EDT.

Week 26

* Parameter changes to RAM are planned for Monday on both spacecraft.  These
  changes are to the G&C for the alignment between star tracker and IMU to line
  them up with the SECCHI GT.

* A PLASTIC flight software load on Ahead is planned for next Tuesday, day
  177.  Wednesday will be used as a backup date.  The same software will be
  uploaded to the Behind spacecraft after a week of verification on Ahead.

* A test will be made of the autonomy rule macros on the Ahead spacecraft on
  Wednesday, day 178, by disabling IMU usage.  The test will last about 2
  hours, and may affect fine pointing.

Week 27

* The next momentum dump on Ahead is scheduled for Thursday, July 5 (day 186),
  at 13:00 UT.  The dumps on Ahead are projected to be run every 6 weeks.
  However on Behind, because it's farther away from the Sun, the dumps will be
  every 9 weeks.  The tentative date for the next momentum dump on Behind is on
  day 206.

* A PLASTIC flight software load on Behind is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday
  (days 183-184).

* DAWN is scheduled for launch July 7th.

Week 28

* The DSN schedule consists of only the minimum requirements--there are no
  extra passes.  Only the nominal schedule is available yet.  The contingency
  schedules for a slip of the DAWN launch are expected soon.

* HGA calibrations are scheduled on both spacecraft on July 11.  The DSN tracks
  are 7 hours long on both spacecraft to accomodate the test.  The time between
  those tracks and the previous tracks is 21 hours for Ahead and 19 hours for
  Behind, which should not cause a problem for SECCHI.

Other

* Phoenix is scheduled for launch on August 3, and Selene is scheduled for
  August 16.  Selene will definitely be using the DSN.
