STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2007-05-22 (Week 21) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 20 * During the Ahead track on station 45 on day 137, there was a late acquisition due to a DSN PIT test. This affected the playback of C&DH data but not instrument data. * The average daily SSR playback during the week was 9.8 gigabits for Ahead and 10.2 gigabits for Behind. These high numbers reflect the SECCHI campaign. * The SECCHI campaign ended early Friday morning. Week 21 * Momentum dumps on both spacecraft tomorrow, 14:30 UT for Ahead and 20:00 UT for Behind. * The weekly command load is on Thursday this week. * PLASTIC will need commanding time after tomorrow's momentum dump to turn their entrance system back on. New DPU software being prepared will make this automatic. Week 22 * No unsual activities. Additional DSN tracks for Behind, but not for Ahead. * SECCHI will need some commanding time during the attended track next Wednesday to upload a software patch for their onboard event recognition. The patch will be uploaded ahead of time through regular commanding--they only need to activate it in realtime. Week 24 * Two extra passes on Ahead and six on Behind. Week 25 * Five extra passes on Ahead and nine on Behind. Other: * Discussion of testing IMU #1 on Ahead. Scripting has been done, and needs to be run on the HIL simulator. These scripts could be ready for use as early as next week. APL and the Goddard project team will meet to discuss plans. * Planning goes out through end of June. There are no unusual activities. * DAWN launch scheduled for June 30. DSN is still working on that and subsequent weeks. Current plans for July are only provisional. * The STEREO Science Center had a problem last week with the file server storing the SECCHI data. That data is being recovered from backup--the process is almost complete. No other data were affected. The SSC is waiting on some additional disks to be delivered for a Pillar system to be used for permanent storage of the SECCHI data. Currently they are using a SATAbeast which is ultimately intended to be a backup system. The data are also stored on a secondary archive in another building at Goddard which is currently acting as the backup. All the other data are stored on Apple Xserve-RAIDs, with the SATAbease acting as the backup, with the processed instrument data also backed up in the secondary archive. * There is an allocation review coming up at JPL, and they would like to know what the plans are for the next SECCHI campaign. The SECCHI team is discussing this, and is currently considering sometime around December 2007, when the two spacecraft are 45 degrees apart. They will inform APL when their plans are firmed up.
