STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2007-05-15 (Week 20) INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. The Ahead spacecraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 19 (last week) * Day 128 Ahead: GMC parameters uploaded to improve performance during zero momentum crossings * Day 129 Ahead: New macros were uploaded so that if there is trouble with IMU #2, the star tracker will provide rate data. * Day 131 Behind: Station 54 changed state to "Aborted" at 00:35 UT, near the end of the track. Reason unknown * Day 132: the Ahead spacecraft was occulted by the moon from 15:29 UT until end of track at 15:55 UT. Data downloaded during this time was lost. From now on the MOC will predict these transits ahead of time so that they can provide advance notification. * Day 132: the STEREO MOC was not in contact with the outside world from 10:00-00:00 UT due to UPS maintenance in another building which supports connectivity to the MOC. Except for the gap from 15:29-15:55 (see last item) all data sent down during this time was received. Network connectivity has been reestablished and should be ok now. * Day 133. New point of presence for back up T1 line from APL to GSFC was successfully installed and tested * Average play back rates were 10.8 gigabits/day for Ahead and 11.0 gigabits/day for Behind * PLASTIC used 3rd command buffer for first time and it went well. Week 20 (this week) * The SECCHI campaign will end late Thursday/early Friday There are still additional tracks beyond that point if any of the instrument teams want to download more data. These tracks are often around 12 hours apart, but not always (SECCHI notes some are 18 hours apart). Week 21 * Wednesday (143): Momentum dumps, Ahead: 14:30 UT, Behind: 20:00 UT, each one about 4min long. Delta-V of about .08 m/s. High Gain Antenna to be used. * On Thursday (144) there will be additional attended tracks, 1 for Ahead and 2 for Behind DSN * DSN schedules are available going out to first week of July, but the schedules of weeks are 26 & 27 not reliable because of uncertainties as to the launch date of DAWN. * Other possible DSN conflicts include PHOENIX (launch window opening on August 3) and SELENE. * Truncated data files: About once a week there has been a truncated data file sent from the DSN central data recorder. The reason is still unknown and being investigated. The MOC is checking for this and asking for retransmits of the data as needed. The Ahead files have been restored from Day 73 to present, for Behind Day 79 to present Other * It was noted that in the "description" column of the weekly plan there is often a notation stating "RT commanding enabled" despite the fact that the passes in question are unattended. This is confusing and the MOC will change that. The "Remarks" column correctly states if a pass is attended or not. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scheduled activities for Week 20: M May 14 (134) T May 15 (135) W May 16 (136) T May 17 (137) Last day of SECCHI campaign F May 18 (138) S May 19 (139) S May 20 (140) Notes: * EIT shutterless campaign May 15, 14:10-23:45 UT; run time 19:00-21:40 UT * Ulysses quadrature with SOHO, Hinode, May 14-20 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scheduled activities for Week 21: M May 21 (141) T May 22 (142) W May 23 (143) Momentum dumps, Ahead: 14:30 UT, Behind: 20:00 UT T May 24 (144) F May 25 (145) S May 26 (146) S May 27 (147) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scheduled activities for Week 22: M May 28 (148) T May 29 (149) W May 30 (150) T May 31 (151) F Jun 01 (152) S Jun 02 (153) S Jun 03 (154) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scheduled activities for Week 23: M Jun 04 (155) T Jun 05 (156) Messenger - Venus fly-by W Jun 06 (157) T Jun 07 (158) F Jun 08 (159) S Jun 09 (160) S Jun 10 (161) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
